They all came through Barcelonas youth academy.

I'll put it to you another way. We got embarrassed by Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 at celtic park with no defensive midfielder.

Rangers beat a Dortmund side, granted without a couple of their best players, and a Leipzig side on their way to a European final with a hatchet man from Aberdeen and a hatchet man from Sheffield United in the middle of the park. Both cost them * all. They just play to these guys strengths and let the guys in front nick goals on the counter. It suits their style.

Now, an argument could be made that Rangers struggle when they are meant to be the team on the ball, as shown in games in the league last year and games against the likes of Malmo or Red Star in Europe.

However, we got punted out by Bodo in the conference league, we got punted out the champions league by Mjitylland and we conceded the most goals out of all European group stages last year. That's simply not good enough.

I want to point out that I would take winning the league every year over having a decent European run. I think there's potential to do both though and I'm not expecting us to get out of the group stages of the champions league but I absolutely would like to have European football after christmas. We should be able to do both comfortably and I think that's where Ange needs to improve next year. Be a bit more pragmatic and if you can't match them technically, make sure you match them physically and that's where we are lacking right now.

I expect better from you Notorious...

No-one is stupid enough to say every Australian is amazing. In fact I made that pretty clear just a few posts ago. But read into it whatever your prejudices need.

Celtic has done pretty well out of Australians but there is still this bizarre cringe... Viduka, McDonald, Rogic, Ange...

Even Arzani would've been interesting if he'd not done his ACL on debut.

How many duds have there been?

Mooy was a very good player when he was at Huddersfield and Brighton. I can’t comment when he has played for Australia as I’ve not seen very very little of that, so I will take what the Australians on here are saying. He is virtually risk free with him costing nothing, and will add depth ti the squad. He isn’t the out and out defensive midfielder we are desperately needing though, and I just hope he isn’t being brought in to fill that role. That’s about the long and short of it.

To be fair if most of us had our way last summer Postecoglou wouldn’t be manager.

Think the argument as got out of hand and there’s still more than enough time for new faces.

It’s like a Celtic fan going to another fan forum

Bangs the drum about how good James Forrest is after he’s signed for let’s say Blackburn.

    It’s madness

For those who are in love.....
Watched a few vids to jog my memory and he is never a defensive mid..

All his best work seems to be in the 10 type position whipping ball's in or around the backline and little one, two's and getting a shots away..

In one of the videos his main weakness seemed to be how lack of pace now he's virtually 32. That is a major concern for the way we play....as we don't have a quick midfield as it is..

Pace and power was both needed for me..

I thought he was very good when he was in England. My memory of him was being good in the attacking third as well though. Very good technically as well if I remember correctly.

No mate, your point was that Mooy is not the saviour in Europe alongside McGregor.

No-one with half a brain said he was.

Mooy is great value given what Celtic can afford and I look forward to the lashings of humble pie being scoffed. Man City don't sign chumps - even when they don't expect them to make the MC side, they only sign players they expect to make money from. And they did. Mooy is class.

As I said before... This is a very low risk gamble, where he's almost certainly gonna contribute - even if maybe not in Europe where pace might be essential. If he's enough to do game time before and after CL matches, to allow us to utilize squad dynamics, then he's fine by me...but if he actually does step up at his best he's a steal for free...

Not excited by this, but it really is nitpicking to say it's a bad bit of business.

He seems like the Australian Paddy McCourt, in that the joke of overrating him gets lost along the way and folk become convinced he’s an elite footballer.

You’ll regret this post when we have James McCarthy lining up against Real Madrid. HH.
