Hickey might be far from the finished article but he's young he's eager to learn and with someone like Kennedy to lean on he could learn a lot and on top he has already played in some high profile matches in scotland cup final couple gamed against us and the zombies, at this point i would have more trust in hickey than i do boli, just my opinion tho

Ahh that’s fair enough then. Think he knows if he comes to here or Bayern he’s likely to go out on loan.

Trying to do business with Budge must he a * though.

Sky Italia claim Aaron Hickey has been offered terms at Bologna - and they are awaiting a response.

The left-back of Hearts had been in Italy to review their facilities and has also been in Germany to do the same with Bayern Munich.

We seem to have cooled our interest in him, not really seen our name linked for a few weeks.

I like Hickey. He’s young, both footed, good engine, can defend/get forward, gets stuck in. He’s quite well rounded in terms of a modern full-back.

He could come in initially as 3rd choice LB and RB. We play 50-60 games a season so he will get opportunities to play and the management team could put a progression plan in place for him to work towards being number 1 LB.

Look at Bauer last year, he was our 3rd choice RB and still featured in 13 games. Hickey would naturally get more time as he’d be our player and he can play in a few positions.

Im not so sure. We have a 30% clause on his next sale. That would basically act as an increase in any fee we paid, compared to other clubs without a clause.

Couldn’t see them turning down a 30% uplift in the transfer fee in the current climate just to spite us.

Really hope we can pick him up. Think it'll be one we look back on with a fair bit of regret if we miss out.

I reckon if the fee was 1.5 we'd get him for 1.05 due to the sell on, the 30% doesn't disappear because we are signing him

Just bid around 1.25m and put in a sell on for 10/15% and should surely get him.

What is it, one year left on his contract?
Just hold it out, the lads not playing till October anyway in the Championship.
Bosman come January, two fingers to Budge and screw the * of the 30%

I think if we wait then he'll be off to Germany as Hearts look to get a fee for him.

We would definitely waive the sell on clause if we were buying him.

Then again, might no. Tbh I’ve no seen anything special to make me think he’s a starter over Taylor. Especially for over £1m.
    Nah no for me.
Despite that, we spunked £3m (?) on Boli and he’s * so at least we’ve more of an idea of what we’d be gettin for our money. And he’d only be 1/3rd of the cost.

Well the probability of him becoming as good as Robertson would be relatively low, but why not? If he got even a bit close to that he could still end up being a very worthwhile investment.

He is 18 mate. Find me another player who has played as many top level games at his age? How many young players in scotland have bayern munich taken interest in? They signed a 16 from us.. who else?
He wouldnt be bought as a starter.
I think the fee would be less than £1m. We could add on a lot of performances relative bonuses to give an added incentive for Hearts.
