Aalborg Aftermath Thread

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by patto, Nov 25, 2008.

  1. Strachan Get To *, enough said

Nakamura was so slow tonight, constantly checking back, he basically destroyed any opportunites of counter attacks.

  2. No,we are the worst team in the c lge this year

  3. TALK ABOUT MELODRAMATICS!

Seriously the half of people posting on this thread never post except when we get beat. And it's always WGS GTF etc etc. Get a grip. This has been on the cards, but you also need a wider perspective on the realities of the game. And prozac. Yeah, youse needs lots of prozac.

This is not the end of the wporld, so don't be so reactionary and ready ton throw in the towel. Celtic supporters? Show youse are.

  4. they make me sick ! celtics team at present and the manager im embaressed

  5. Here we go (again), knives are out.

  6. well away and support an English team in the EPL.

  7. Gutted:54:
    That was shameful.

  8. I have to say I am absolutely * off by what has happened tonight. St mirren gave us more of a game on saturday than that shower that we played tonight.

Luck has nothing to do with it. As much as I'm loathed to say, our players did not stand up against that excuse for a pub team. Good *, anyone on this board had a good chance of making their 1st team. I think thats what made it even worse, we turn over better teams than aalborg each week when we have so many players injured.

At the moment, and I think I speak for a lot of Celtic fans, I cannot even look forward to us getting the 4 in the row which I believe we will achieve. We were embarrassed tonight...just twists the knife that it was on the European stage.

  9. Tragic, Sad, Pish.

We should've had them tonight. Aalborg were there for the taking. The early misses summed it up. Samaras couldn't have scored in a brothel tonight. Maloney was given one minute of regulation time ffs. We backed off after our goal and kept losing possession, we all saw what was going on and what was coming if a change or two wasn't made. And none of this, we were unlucky, they were good pish tonight.

    I could go on.

But Im not gonna all for Strachan to go or anythnig, lets go for four in a row.

I think I need some Prozac after reading all the negativity :56:

Strachan is due to get it right some time  and I think that he will eventually. :86:

  11. What a load of pish. Boycotting games coz we got knocked out of the Champions League. FFS. :31:

When the board were spending £6million on guys like Lennon, Sutton & Hartson we were getting pumped away from home. Boycotting games ain't gonna have any positive impact (whether short or long term).

  12. You get to *, enough said.

  13. That was the final straw for me with Strachan, I know a lot of " real fans " will hound me now.

In January if he doesn't DEMAND money for quality players, he'd be as well walking.

Cast your mind back to Tannadice, 1-0 up, then 1-1, Strachan brings Samaras on in the 88th minute. - Mistake.

Then against Aberdeen, he brings on McGeady and McDonald with lots of time left, we come back to win the match. We all think he's learned his lesson.

Tonight, he brings Maloney on in the 89th minute, and after 30 seconds he's already put the best cross of the night into the box.

IMO Martin O'Neill would not have lost that match with that squad. Strachan thinks the sun shines out of Scott McDonald's *, if he didn't dive, we wouldn't have conceded the 1st goal.

Why was Nakamura not subbed, I know he's our most creative player, but the guy was shattered, it was even affecting his passing, which is vital to the team. Surely Maloney could have came on for Nakamura with 25 minutes left ?

Stephen McManus should be dropped as captain IMO. Not just for tonight, I honestly don't think he's a natural leader like John Terry or Steven Gerrard. Firstly, why was he allowed so much space to shoot, and secondly, why did McManus hesitate when closing the guy down? watch the replay, he skips backwards when charging towards him, that split second could be the difference between a deflection and a blocked shot.

What do we work on in training, because if Samaras can't score those 2 chances, why are we paying him? Nakamura's bobbled, but he should still have the net, disgusting finishing.

People including John Hartson are saying we played brilliant tonight, I disagree, I think it was our best away performance under Strachan, but that's only because the other away performances have been unforgivable. BBJ is right when he says we should have been 3 or 4 up at HT.

In January, we'll most likely sign players from Dundee United and Hibs and then expect to get into the last 16 next season. The board have to take a lot of the blame for this too. Left back isn't much of a problem atm. but the lack of quality for backup is. That's what is worrying me most, Vennegoor goes down Injured and our back up is Cillian Sheridan, no disrespect to the lad, I know he's been scoring, but he can't kick his own * most of the time. He's a good player to have in CIS cup matches against Livingston and Dunfermline. Another position that worries me is centre back, O'Dea is the only real player who can even threaten to break into the squad, hardly motivation for Loovens, Mick and Caldwell to perform out of their skins.

I * Miss Larsson, Hartson and Sutton.

WHERE ARE YOU ALL WHEN WE ARE WINNING?!

Seriously iv never seen half of you lot unless we have just lost. Then you are on here in a flash with your knives out for Strachan or the board or whoever.

    Its shameful

  15. "WGS GTF" same old same old. He wasnt playing up front tonight. He did a couple of things I dont agree with but we are so * fragile when something like this happens - "Oh, can I sell my Villareal ticket" "Oh, CP is empty, must be WGS fault".

On the last day of last season every one of you would have crawled over broken glass to lick his *.

  16. Exactly, you can't honestly blame WGS for our stupid misses tonight. * Samaras should've had at least 2 in.

  17. it's not strachan's fault so everyone blaming strachan GTF. strachan done * all wrong tonight apart from making 2 bad subs. nakamura and samaras bottled it.we should have gotten a penalty but we didn't. we should have got a freekick just before there first goal but we didn't and if we had got that freekick who knows how the game would have finished. the referee had an absolute stinker and i am giving the referee more than half of the blame for tonight's result i didn't get one decision correct tonight.

  18. Big man, it's hardly surprising people are angry and are venting immediately after that game. You can't expect people to go "ho-hum, oh well, the lads sure put in a jolly old performance. Better luck next time chaps!"

  19. we havnt won one big game this year. any real test and the team and manager have failed
