    No!

Of course I would love to see us compete for players and be a force again in Europe but not that way. Reason being as others have said that it is very risky in the long term, too risky.

I have respect for clubs live Barca, Madrid, Milan, Man U, Liverpool and to a lesser extent Arsenal because football made their wealth, not the other way round like Chelsea and Man C.

Id be against it, id rather go as we are now than rely on 1 guy to make us a great team.

There are other Clubs you can go and watch if you just want to see a guy building a great team like Man City etc as you said.

the clubs you have mentioned are worse financialy than celtic. to my knowledge anyway. i think the rich lists etc often get mixed up with turnover of a club. these clubs have huge turnovers and some decent profits. but what i fails to mention is the debt.

madrid constantly have their debt paid off by the council/government as its a huge sourcve of tourism.

Having owners like Man City's would suck the passion of the club. Man City used to be seen as the club for the real supporters of Manchester, now it's seen as the biggest sell-out club of them all. Wouldn't want any owners like that anywhere near our club.

Massive massive risk, for so long in our history it's always been the same way, I wouldn't really want it to change now. I think we need to keep our traditions. And who knows what kind of owner they could be, yeah it might be good for the cash, but what about the reputation of our club and the future?

No because the odds are it would merely be a business venture.

However if the likes of Billy Connolly and Rod Stewart were to utilize their fortunes in a joint take over I would be fully supportive.

If anyone watched that "Dispatches" documentary the other week there- "Dispatches: How To Buy A Football Club", it's disgusting how these high-up businessmen treat football clubs: mearly as pawns in their business ventures.
And what about if Celtic end up with some dodgy businessmen like Romanov? Oh dear.

well reading over this thread last night and having a think about it .. if a foreign takeover means somebody who has no affiliation with celtic at all ( does not support, or has even watched a game ) then no

BUT.... if they did takeover, clear the debt, and were able to give us money to not bust the bank, but so we can pay a little bit over what we pay now for players. I see us constantly lose out on players because we cant raise our offer by £500k.

in that case, then i would be all for a takeover, so that we have the money there IF we need it, but would prefer it if a rich fan of the club tookover.

Wee Fergus McCann took over the club and didnt do a bad job. Injected finances into the stadium and the playing side and brought us into the 20th Century. A much maligned figure who has not had the full credit he deserves.

If another foreign super rich backer came in and said he wanted to invest gazillions into the club and make us a major force in Europe - we, as fans, would probably cream ourselves.
