Aye lads, but in the summer window. It was also moved to a Monday, but it still finished at midnight. I remember it clearly with the Robinho and Berbatov transfers. So why is this finishing at 5?

    Newcastle manager Joe Kinnear:
"There were turning points in the game and I don't think - again - the big decisions have gone our way, but that's the way it is going for us at the moment.
"We were camped in their half for most of the game and so I have to be heartened by our character today, very much so.
"As for transfers before tomorrow, I've got two players lined up who we've been speaking to and I'm confident we will get those in.
"And as for outgoings, we're waiting on Shay Given and Charles N'Zogbia's situations. There's a sticking point over Given's move to Manchester City, with a lot of haggling going on, so we will have to wait and see on both of those two. I hope they go through soon, though, so I can go and spend that money."

We need to sign some players, or we're going to lose the league. Quibbling over a couple of million for a striker, when we need goals, is ridiculous. It really is finger-out-of-* time for the board.

I think the biscuit tin mentality is coming back mate...... we are only 3mill in debt and that is upposed to be getting cleared at the end of the season so why can't we spend some decent money on players cos i think we make something like 17 mill net profit virtually every year so we could spend big on a playeror two and still not be in debt, come on PL & WGS get the finger out and spend some of OUR cash

Injured for six weeks, keep up.

Strachan is known for doing his buisness early in the windows. Very much doubt we'll see anyone come in. Although to bring in a fourth striker would be good.

ISthat wright funny how he scored 3 goals in a bounce game against falkirk last week and is hoping to get out on loan to blackpool by the end of play tomorrow ,dont think that blackpool are in the market for taking injured players on loan.
