I was just thinking how similar things are now to how they were 12 months ago. Not a lot has changed. We had watched a season of mediocre performances and were going into the last game of the season with the league still on the line. Ring any bells?
We were also in need of a left back, one of our centre halfs was getting a roasting from a section of the fans(Heid last year, this year McManus) and there was talk of 'Will Strachan stay if we don't win the League?' Ring any bells?
My question is this: Do you think 12 months from now we will be sitting here AGAIN complaining about the quality of football, the lack of decent signings, the left back position, the way we have allowed the Huns to stay in the race for the title even though they're pish and debating whether Strachan should/will go? Or will some real progress be made in the next year? Thoughts.........

I hope not. And I see us sitting on top of the table with few points clear of Rangers. Of course, with copule of quality players who will give something that would be a joy to watch.
-
Hopefully not but the way it's been going I wouldn't be surprised. We're not going to spend big and there isn't going to be a huge clear out which means we'll have essentially the same team (with the exception of any breakthroughs from the reserves) who just aren't good enough to put the league away early. Strachan will still be here I think so we'll still have all the pro-Strachan/anti-Strachan stuff, and he'll still be making stupid tactical decisions/pickig the wrong team in most big games. i think we will sign a left back tho.

Plenty of changes. We wont recognise the place lol.

You'd like to think lessons will have been learnt, I personally think the side will have had several changes a year from now.

We need 2 players bought in the summer who will go straight into the team and improve it. Things are in danger of going stale. If the League goes to the last game AGAIN next season then the board and manager will have failed. Rangers are as weak as they have been in 20 years and if we cannot see them off before the last game for 3 seasons running then it will say something about how far we have sunk too. It is often said on here(and I say it myself) that we are better than Rangers. But if the League goes to the wire 2 seasons in a row can we really say that? I think the truth is that at this precise moment there is very little between us and them. I would give us the edge but only just! We really MUST strive to improve in the next 12 months and have next year's championship wrapped up before the last day of the season. -
12 months from now I'll be a year older and hopefully Celtic will be on track to be a great team and away from this * football that we seem to be playing !

12 months from now all i know is every one of us will still be a celtic supporter.we only moan and argue because things like sunday affect us deeply.dont forget all the current players and manager are only custodians.im in my 40s and have seen some .* doozys play for the hoops but ive also had some of the best times in my life supporting this club.

A lot of things to consider. We're less likely to spend if we don't win the league, even less likely to spend if the season ticket sales go down - which I think will happen, especially if Strachan is still the manager.
If we can't replace Naylor after the money we raked in last season - * help us for the season ahead. -

We had it in our own hand last season going into the last game, so you could say we are getting worse.
If we win the league, I don't see that many buys in the summer, reasons being the fact Rangers won't be able to strengthen there team, so we are told. That will be enough for the board to rub there hand with glee and give themselves a big bonus for a successful year.
If we lose on the other hand, there will be big changes as much as to say we could lose WGS as one of the casualties, now this won't happen straight away, but when the board realise the season ticket sales has taken a massive dip due to him, well lets just say money talks.
Now I would like the latter to happen but I don't want to lose the league to see it happen. I would would like to think the board had a bit of brains between them to work it out for themselves how poor we have been this year and where the buck stops.
Maybe we should all keep our money in our pockets anyway this year and see what the board do before the season starts. we the support make up more than 50% of the income at Celtic park every year. if we decided not to buy any merchandise or season books it would not be long before the biscuit tin started to open. -

Lessons weren't learned last year when we got out of jail so why should it be any different next year?
Now that we've basically handed the huns the title and a 10 million CL jackpot, they are only going to get stronger, and even if by some miracle we manage to nick it next week, I predict we'll see the same poor investment in the team this summer as last. -
