Taxi for Ronny Deila
Aberdeen outclass Celtic in a 2-1 win at Pittodrie

Time is up, the jury has spoken. Even the staunchest supporters of Ronny Deila are now beginning to call for his removal from the Celtic manager's job. Too many times in big games, has the Celtic team looked tactically unaware, unmotivated and just utterly hopeless.

Less than 10 years ago, Celtic Park was known as a European fortress, Celtic were known as a team with a never say die attitude; last minute winners and wild celebrations were commonplace.

That is now gone.

The soundbites from Deila have always been good, granidose claims of 24 hour athletes, good nutrition and high fitness levels were spouted to the press. A method of playing good football was promised and player development was high on the agenda.

It would be impulsive and emotive to fail to give Deila some credit for...
Deila's Deadline Deals

Three in, four out for Celtic in the month of January.

Colin Kazim-Richards. Patrick Roberts. Erik Sviatchenko. These are the three names Celtic supporters are hoping will ignite their imagination when they pull on the famous green & white hoops of the Scottish champions.

In the other direction, Anthony Stokes joins Hibernian on loan, recent signing Nadir Ciftci goes to Eskisehirspor in Turkey, while young players Aidan Nesbitt and Jack Breslin have went to Partick Thistle and Annan Athletic respectively.

Stokes has endured a lengthy spell on the sidelines in recent times at Celtic, a certain dent to his pride due to his earlier success at the club, the move to Hibernian follows an apparent fall out between Stokes and his manager Ronny Deila. Only those within the club know the full extent of where it went wrong for Stokes, a player with proven ability at domestic level. It's now up to Stokes to enjoy his loan spell at Hibs and hopefully work his...
January sales
Celtic fans aren't getting their hopes up for the January transfer window

As modern football progresses, Celtic continually find themselves on the fringes of the transfer market, forced to wade through the lower echelons of the football world to unearth a diamond in the rough. The Scottish champions outspent by clubs in the English championship.

It's now common knowledge that the teams relegated from the English Premier League receive a much larger sum of money for their league position than Celtic do for actually winning the SPFL. TV revenue being a major factor in why Celtic can no longer compete for the standard of player it once could.

This is the first of two transfer windows Ronny Deila has to try and inject some talent into what many supporters believe is a poor Celtic squad. The well noted failings of the team highlight...

Ciftci the best as Celtic win in Perth

Celtic continued to provide the perfect remedy to avoiding the dreaded European hangover, helped on their way to a 3-0 victory at St Johnstone by a double from Turkish striker, Nadir Ciftci, who has been on the receiving end of plenty of criticism following his Summer switch to Glasgow

Though it was the Saints who looks the more likely early on, with in-form Michael O'Halloran racing in behind the defence within the first two minutes, only to be denied by a fine stop from Craig Gordon, who will have been keen to make amends following his blunder on Thursday night.

With the Champions starting slowly, it was the hosts who threatened again, as Shaughnessy got his head on the end of a corner, only to nod it harmlessly into the turf, and the hands of the Celtic 'keeper.
Murray Davidson was also thwarted by...

Celts exit Europe with a scrap of respect

Match Report: Fenerbahce 1-1 Celtic

In a night where individual errors again threatened to cost Celtic in Europe, a goal from Kris Commons helped earn his side a point, prompting Gordon Strachan to label the English-born forward as "Better than Diego", the Brazilian magician whose sending off changed the game.

Fenerbahce started positively, with Celtic sitting deep, putting together a number of one-twos with Diego moving very cleverly between the lines. It took the home side minutes to create the first chance, with Gordon unconvincingly tipping Topal's strike onto the post.

The visitors were working hard as they shuffled around the pitch trying to stop the Turks, but it was clear they lacked the pace or quality on the ball to provide a regular threat of their own....
