Hearts Left Broken by Prolific Paddy

In what could have proven to be another potential slip up on the road to a 5th successive title, Celtic had 19 year old Patrick Roberts to thank for propelling them to 3 points against Hearts at Celtic Park. Ronny Deila will no doubt be left delighted at the win however it could easily have ended up differently had third placed Hearts been able to fully capitalise on a strong first half showing.
The visitors started off the better of the two sides and looked confident in possession, anyone would have been forgiven for thinking that they...

UEFA Cup 2nd Round knockout tie – 2nd leg

Season 2002/2003

IN what would eventually prove to be the first of two ‘Battle Of Britain’ ties on the road to Seville, Martin O’Neill’s Celtic side shell-shocked Blackburn Rovers, who were then of the English Premier League, to progress to the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup. The 3-0 aggregate scoreline came as a surprise, especially to those south of the border. In fact prior to the tie, Blackburn were viewed as firm favourites to progress in the eyes of many, with their potent(albeit aging) strike partnership of former Manchester United stars Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole. CELTIC - 0
DUNDEE - 0

Tonight saw Charlie Mulgrew make his 200th Celtic appearance, unfortunately it was an occasion to forget for the 29 year old. Celtic failed to find the net and were frustrated by 5th placed Dundee.

A man making his first appearance for Celtic was Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts, the £12m highly rated youngster. At just 19, he looks to have a bright future in the game and sees Celtic as a great place to get the experience needed before making the step up to Man City's first team.

Roberts provided a few moments where his ability was on show but he too was unable to help the Hoops find a way to goal.

Elsewhere in the league, Aberdeen...

After the disappointment of Friday night's 1-1 draw vs Hamilton, Ronny Deila's Celtic side head into this mid-week clash knowing that a win could extend their lead over nearest rivals Aberdeen to 9 points. However this will not be a straightforward task against a Dundee side who are unbeaten in their last 4 Premiership games, albeit 3 of them being draws.

The fact remains though that Paul Hartley's side will have no fear heading to Celtic Park given the inconsistent performances that have been far too apparent throughout this season from the reigning champions.

Watching Celtic has become a chore

Boring Celtic struggle to a draw at New Douglas Park

As harsh at it may seem, watching Celtic recently has become like a house hold chore in terms of entertainment. Celtic fans will support the club through thick and thin but that does not mean they will not voice their discontent over poor team performances.

Despite all their possession, the Hoops were unable to break down Hamilton, relying on a Leigh Griffiths penalty to take the lead. This marked Griffiths' 33rd goal in all competitions this season and he could have added one more to his tally as Celtic won a second penalty, unfortunately, McGovern made a comfortable save and this proved costly for the champions.

The game started at a relatively slow pace with Celtic having 82% possession in the first 10 minutes of the...
