A tough task lay ahead for the Bhoys after an energy sapping Europa game in Germany against Leverkusen. Aberdeen were today’s opponents at Celtic Park and their form has been indifferent, taking points from Hibs, Rangers and Hearts but losing their last two to Dundee United and Motherwell.
It was also the first time that Celtic Legend Scott Brown returned home to play in front of the fans who adored him. Callum McGregor and Brown laid wreaths for their respective clubs in the Centre of a large banner tribute to another Legend, Bertie Auld, who sadly passed away last week. A minutes applause was also carried out.

The Hoops return back home, looking to put the disappointment of a narrow defeat in Germany behind them, with the visit of Aberdeen on Sunday to Parkhead.
And although the result on Thursday didn't quite go the way the Celtic faithful would've wanted, there is undeniable evidence of the improvement that the Bhoys have made over the past few months, with an spirited display, undone by a little lack of depth on the bench when it was needed to see that game home.

After clinching their place in the League Cup Final at the weekend, Celtic now must turn their attention to Europe, and a clash with German side, Bayer Leverkusen, on Thursday evening.

Everyone was buzzing to get back to domestic business after a long International break and a Semi Final tie at Hampden was the obstacle to make it to the first final of the season. An evening kick off at 5.15pm helped add to the spectacle as night games usually make for a better atmosphere. The Celtic fans and particularly the Green Brigade did not disappoint.
A full length East Stand display with the lettering spelling out BERTIE was unveiled just before kick off and it was an amazing sight. The noise level from the Bhoys was crackling like electricity in the cold night sky for a minute's applause. The players emerged all wearing number 10 on their shorts in tribute to Bertie Auld, a true Celtic Legend and club ambassador....
