Wim Jansen posing with the two trophies he won as Celtic Manager

There has been another sad loss to the Celtic family, with the tragic news of the passing of former boss, Wim Jansen.

Jansen made more than 500 appearances for Feyenoord, including being part of the side that defeated Celtic in the 1970 European Cup Final as well as winning the 1974 UEFA Cup and 5 Dutch league championships (4 of which with Feyenoord), in addition to his achievements with the Dutch national side which included playing in two World Cup Finals before moving into management. It was during this time that he first became acquainted with a young Swedish striker by the name of Larsson.

Jansen arrived at Celtic in 1997, and was charged with what seemed like a...

ALLOA 1-2 CELTIC

scorers: Celtic. Giakoumakis (14) Abada (45+1)
Alloa. Sammon (78)

This game was a poor spectacle at any level but definitely not helped by yet another plastic pitch. It’s clearly obvious that Celtic can’t play to their style on these surfaces and this one was bone dry which only contributed to slowing down the action.

The scoreline definitely flattered the home side as Celtic could and should have scored at least another three goals with Maeda in particular fluffing his lines several times. Ange Postecoglou took advantage to rest a few players and with this he also made a change to the formation that he used against Hibs.

Celtic return to action on Monday evening, with the visit of Hibernian to Parkhead. And a win tomorrow would narrow the gap at the top of the League to just three points.

The Bhoys will be welcomed back and roared on by a packed Celtic Park, as fans will once again be allowed into the stadium to catch the Hoops in action on a rare Monday night outing.

This will be the first action in the Scottish top flight in three weeks, after the...
The rumour mill had been in full swing all week with talk of a Covid outbreak amongst Ange Postecoglou's side, and the truth of the matter was revealed an hour or so before kick off. The big shock was to see Vasilius Barkas in goal, along with the omission of captain Callum McGregor at the heart of midfield. Kyogo would lead the line in a welcome return, Welsh at right back and McCarthy in the midfield role vacated by McGregor. The subs bench included several surprises with Soro and Bolingoli, along with kids from the academy Doak, Dawson and Moffat.

With so many players out, the positive to be taken is that these players could get a chance to come in and make a claim for a spot. These are the chances young payers have to embrace when they come around. Would any take their opportunity - an action packed 90 minutes would tell!

The early signs were good with Kyogo getting on to an early ball from McCarthy and pinging a low cross ball into a dangerous...

Ange Postecoglou's Bhoys don't have much time to celebrate Sunday's League Cup triumph, with yet another match in this stacked December schedule and short turnaround, with just roughly 72 hours between lifting the trophy on Sunday and being fully prepared for the short trip to Paisley on Wednesday.

Before proceeding, it should be noted there are questions about the possibility this game happening or what sort of side either team will be able to field is very much open to conjecture at this point.
