BHOYS AIM TO BOUNCE BACK!

Celtic will be aiming to recover from another dismal European away-day when they face Hibernian at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The Scottish Champions took on the English and European Champions, Manchester United, at Old Trafford on Tuesday night and were beaten 3-0. Two suspicious looking Dimitar Berbatov strikes had put United ahead, before Wayne Rooney rounded off the scoring.

But its back to domestic matters for Gordon Strachan's men now. As arch-rivals Rangers look to reinforce the pressure at the top of the table, SPL victories will be crucial in maintaining momentum and the push for a fourth consecutive league trophy.

Celtic look to secure 3 points against a Hibs side sporting a very familiar face. Derek Riordan ended his Parkhead nightmare and returned to Edinburgh, where he started his...
STRACHAN HONEST IN DEFEAT.

Celtic lined up in Manchester last night against what Manager Gordon Strachan later described as "the best team in the world". With such a daunting task ahead of him, the manager would have been praying that the important decisions went his way - at Old Trafford it is the home side who normally get this assistance - as if they need it!

Celtic lined up with a strong looking team which had three centre halves, with Gary Caldwell playing in the centre of midfield to offer protection and physical presence in front of his back four.
The diminutive Scott McDonald was chosen to lead the line, as Strachan's options were severely restricted due to the injuries of arguably his two best strikers Georgios Samaras and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.

Fergie also played with three centre halves, playing Irishman John O'Shea at leftback in for the...

BHOYS AND RED DEVILS

Tuesday the 21st of October is a date that has been much anticipated in the football calendar, ever since the group stages of the Champions League were announced. In what has often been referred to as a “Battle of Britain” contest, the Champions of Scotland face the European and English Champions Manchester United – this the ultimate test of just how far Gordon Strachan’s Celtic team have come since he took over the helm in 2005.

It is not the first time Strachan’s men have faced the mighty United. Just under two years ago an exceptional Shunsuke Nakamura free kick, coupled with a dramatic penalty save by Artur Boruc, consigned Sir Alex Ferguson’s men to an unprecedented defeat at Celtic Park....
Brown's Bhoys beat Brew.

Saturday’s early SPL kick-off featured reigning champions Celtic against Craig Brewster’s Inverness Caledonian Thistle side in what always promised to be a nervy encounter – the Caledonian Stadium rarely provides an easy away fixture, especially for a Hoops side that has been thwarted by the Highland outfit on numerous occasions.

After the tragic passing of Dundee United supremo Eddie Thomson earlier in the week, proceedings commenced with a minute’s applause in remembrance of a true football fan who will be missed not only by fans of the Arabs, but by Scottish football as a whole – serving as a sombre reminder of the more important factors in life. This celebration of a man who dedicated so much of his existence to the team he loved was adhered to in admirable fashion before...
Domestic Business Takes Centre Stage for Celts

'Always look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'

A commonly used phrase and one not too dissimilar to the situation facing Gordon Strachan this weekend as Celtic return to domestic action against Inverness Caley at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium after an extended International break.

With another massive glamour tie in the offing next week against Manchester United, the juggling act of; squad rotation, keeping players fit, making sure others aren't too tired, keeping squad players happy AND not to forget making sure the 3 points are picked up, is this week's dilemma facing the Celtic manager.

Fortunately for Celtic even though Scott McDonald and Shunsuke Nakamura both faced daunting long haul trips to the Southern Hemisphere and back, there appear to be no new injury worries to contend with off the...
