CELTIC’S LINK TO MAKELELE
Celtic striker Georgios Samaras today paid new Bhoy Landry N’Guemo the highest of compliments. When asked about the combative midfielder, who has impressed greatly since his arrival, Samaras stated:
“I have started calling him Makelele. In the games against Dynamo he was fabulous. He keeps the ball well and is so strong, even though he is only small. He is a very good player, and now we have a strong midfield with Massimo Donati, Landry, Marc Crosas and Scott Brown.”

Celtic’s youths better than Milan and Madrid
Celtic’s talented youngsters have – for the very first time in the club’s history – reached the final of the illustrious Villarreal International Youth Tournament, where they will face English giants Liverpool.
Their place in the final was confirmed yesterday, following on from a morale-boosting defeat of the Japanese national team – no mean feat, when taking into consideration the expansion of the game in the Far East in recent years.
Nonetheless, it is the two victories against their Italian and Spanish counterparts which should...
CELTIC’S BATTLE OF BRITAIN AGAINST GUNNERS.
It was the draw that we had all hoped to avoid, but Celtic will face EPL giants Arsenal in the final qualifying round for the Champions League.
Ideally, lesser (on paper) opposition such as Panathanaikos and Sporting Lisbon were seen as the kindest of options available, but now Tony Mowbray’s Bhoys must prepare themselves for the hardest of all battles.

Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie, Eduardo, Andrei Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Samir Nasri, William Gallas and Tomas Rosicky are to name but a few of the world class performers the Gunners have on...
Brown is Back and the The Bhoys Believe!
Last week’s 1-0 loss at home to Dynamo Moscow was disappointing – there was no doubt about that. Concession of an early goal after sloppy defending, and the inability to convert at least three gilt-edged opportunities means that Tony Mowbray’s men are undoubted underdogs for the return leg in Moscow.
However, there is a belief within the Celtic squad that this is a fixture very much still in the balance. As the Hoops headed to Russia this morning, Coach Peter Grant assured the faithful fans that belief in the camp was high, and that there still existed great hopes that Mowbray’s charges could overturn last week’s result.

Celtic take on English Premier League side Sunderland tomorrow in a pre-season friendly at Celtic Park.
The North-East side make the trip north of the border as they continue their preparations ahead of the new season, with new manager Steve Bruce at the helm.
Bruce: Cash to spend

Bruce: Cash to spend
Sunderland, under new investment, narrowly escaped relegation from England's top flight last season and are looking to bolter the squad to avoid a repeat of that performance.
Celtic will be looking for a positive result ahead of a testing trop to Moscow, where they are looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit and progress to the next stage of Champions League qualifying.
Progression now seems unlikely, but far from impossible despite a disappointing home defeat on Wednesday...
