Hamilton:1
(Mickael Antoine-Curier 83)
Celtic: 2
(Shaun Maloney 15, Scott McDonald 29)

Celtic returned to the top of the SPL yesterday with a 2-1 victory over Hamilton. Goals from Shaun Maloney and Scott McDonald sealed the points for the Bhoys on a miserable Sunday afternoon. Hamilton replied late on with a goal from Mickael Antoine-Curier but couldn't find the finish to salvage a point from the game.

Celtic started the game unconvincingly and signs were showing from their recent run of poor form, however Hamiltons Marco Paixao gave away possession just outside of his own box which ended with Andreas Hinkel firing in a great cross which was met by Shaun Maloneys bicycle kick and the ball slipped under Tomas Cerny to give the visitors an early lead, with 15 minutes gone.

On the 29th minute Celtic all but wrapped up the win when Scott McDonald fired home, with some help from a Hamilton...

Celtic Back to the Blackboard vs. Academicals

With the pressure beginning to mount on individual player performances, Celtic are to face Hamilton with the possible return of few first teamers from the start of the season. Hinkel, Fox, and Fortune are all said to on the cusp of a return to the lineup. However, having been in the treatment room since Arsenal eliminated the Hoops from the Champions League Fortune would be especially a surprise selection as a starter if expected to still be on the pitch after 90.

Mowbray: 2 months to Save Your Celtic Future.

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray today assessed another disappointing European performance at home, and challenged his squad to prove their worth before the arrival of the January transfer window.

While last night’s defeat at least showed the occasional hint of promise, with opportunities created, the simple fact is that the Bhoys stand on the brink of elimination from Europe, after a series of poor displays.

After the 1-0 loss to Hamburg, Mowbray stated “It is up to the players to prove they are worthy of staying at this club and playing in front of those fans. We give them (the players) 10 out of 10 for effort, but I never questioned their effort.

CELTIC AND SCOTLAND'S FAITH IN ISLAM

14 year old wonderkid Islam Feruz has been tipped for a starting berth, ahead of Scotland’s under-17 encounter against Georgia this evening.

The Celtic youngster, selected for Scotland under a new FIFA eligibility ruling, made his debut as a second half substitute on Tuesday, making an instant impression. With the scoreline sitting at 0-0 the young man embarked on an inspired solo run, before delivering a magnificent 40 yard diagonal ball that was dispatched into the back of the net by fellow young Bhoy Callum McGregor.

Scotland under-17 gaffer Ross Mathie confessed that he “used Islam as a sub on Tuesday, so expectations did not become too much. He may well start (tonight) against the...

Fortuné Return Delights Mowbray

After 8 weeks out as a result of injury, Tony Mowbray was today thrilled to announce the imminent return of his marquee summer signing – Marc-Antoine Fortuné.

Fortuné, who suffered ligament damage playing against Arsenal back in August, was brought to the club not as a prolific scorer but for his all-round contribution. Although he struggled to get off the mark for the Bhoys – a handful of missed chances against Aberdeen on the opening day of the SPL season the most noteworthy – Mowbray clearly feels that Celtic have struggled in his absence:
