Fighting spirit sees Bhoys in European comeback

A much changed Celtic team fought back from 3 goals down after only 20 minutes to draw 3 each against Rapid Vienna in their final European game of the season. As expected Mowbray made several changes to the team that had recently put in a run of consistent performances as Wilson, Caddis, Flood, McGowan, McGinn, McManus and Fortuné were all handed starting spots in the Austrian capital.

However, the changed line-up made the worse start possible as Nikica Jelavic put the Austrians a goal up with only 35 seconds on the clock, then within 7 minutes he doubled their lead. The Hoops led through Georgios Samaras but Motherwell hit back twice before half time to ensure they led at the break. A fine strike from Aiden McGeady brought the sides level and, despite Barry Robson's missed penalty, Marc-Antoine Fortune's late wonder goal gave the Glasgow side all three points.
Celtic had the better of Motherwell in the opening exchanges and almost put themselves ahead after eight minutes when Georgios Samaras latched onto Danny Fox's long ball but his shot came off the foot of 'Well goalkeeper John Ruddy and clipped the crossbar. However, the Greek striker would not be denied and five minutes later he had his goal. He...

Celts Looking to Make Fantastic Four

The Bhoys head to Fir Park this Saturday in their first of three upcoming away games. Having secured three consecutive victories at Celtic Park, the Bhoys will be looking to implement the lessons they have learned at home on the road to increase their winning streak to four.

The first of these three away tests will be a clash with Jim Gannon's Steelmen, who have impressed with their form against the Old Firm, having gone undefeated against the two teams so far this season. In fact, their only two defeats this season have come from Hibernian, so the Bhoys will go in to this match knowing that it will take their best efforts to keep their hot streak alive.

However, confidence is running high in the Celtic squad as they have begun to...
