Falkirk v Celtic - TC Official Match Report
Falkirk 0 - 2 Celtic
Falkirk Stadium
Sunday 7th March 2010
An impressive showing from Robbie Keane was enough to clinch a relatively comfortable victory over Falkirk. Two goals in each half from the Irishman helped Celtic to reduce Rangers lead at the top of the SPL after the dissapointment of the previous week.
Tony Mowbray had made four changes from the side that were narrowly defeated at Ibrox with suspended captain Scott Brown, Diomansy Kamara, Thomas Rogne and Marc Antoine Fortune all making way for Marc Crosas, Georgios Samaras, Darren O'Dea and Morten Rasmussen respectively. Celtic certainly started the brighter with Robbie Keane having a decent effort deflected wide and linking up excellently with the impressive Rasmussen who was a thorn in the side of the Bairns defence all afternoon....

Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League
Venue: Falkirk Stadium Date: Sunday 7 March Kick-off: 1315 GMT
The dust has not yet settled on another controversial Old Firm derby, and all the talk has revolved around Scott Brown, who consequently will not be featuring in today's encounter at Falkirk Stadium. The midfielder's frivolous tussle with perennially dishonest Kyle Lafferty has resulted in a 1-match-ban and on the back of a failed appeal, a further 2 matches will be missed.

Giving what you got
Having frittered the league away with a number of paltry performances, the suspension is now meaningless but that was never the argument. Having the SFA admit they had made at least three match-changing errors in three consecutive Glasgow derbies is obviously a...
Mowbray’s Defining Managerial Moment.
12 games to salvage a season that – although mired in refereeing controversy – has proved to be a great disappointment thus far.
That is the scenario facing Tony Mowbray and his team, ahead of arguably the most crucial encounter of the SPL season to date.
While Rangers’ lead at the top of the league table was cut to 7 points last week, with the Ibrox outfit’s game the victim of a late call-off as a result of adverse weather conditions, the 3rd instalment of this year’s Old Firm fixtures is a must-win for Celtic.
Sub-standard refereeing – and that is this writer being at his most generous – has wreaked havoc with the previous two encounters this...
Defensive Dilemma
Celtic entertain Dundee United at Celtic Park tomorrow knowing that the fans will be demanding a win. After a disastrous campaign to date, finding ourselves 10 points behind our rivals from the other side of the city nothing less than three points will do.
Tony Mowbray will be without both Jos Hooiveld and Glen Loovens, the Dutch duo both missing out due to injury, coupled with the suspension of Darren O’Dea means that Mowbray once again has to face a defensive dilemma. One ray of light on the defensive front is the return of German full back Andreas Hinkel.

Financial results not as bad as first feared
In the current economic climate of global recession, major job losses and the tightening of purse strings by both individuals and companies alike it is promising to see that Celtic still managed to post a small profit for the 6 months ended 31st December 2009.
While many media sources focus on the negative aspects of the financial figures released yesterday by the board it is important that fans also get the chance to see the positives in these figures.
As Celtic chairman John Reid stated “football and commercial success went hand in hand” therefore it is of no surprise that turnover fell by over 20% to £36.11 million. The loss of the league last May and the...
