Celtic v Ajax

UEFA Champions League, Group H
Both teams go into this crucial Group H encounter knowing that they will likely need a positive result if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the Champions League last 16.
After two promising performances but no points to show for their efforts, Celtic will need nothing less than a win on Tuesday night if they are to even hope to progress, while the Dutch visitors will also be looking for their first win. Following a harsh...

Thank the Lord the international break is over. As exciting as the victory over Croatia was and the progress our national team is making under Gordon Strachan, it is ultimately club football that i look forward to the most. Celtic return to action away to Hibs in Edinburgh on Saturday. The Bhoys haven't yet suffered a defeat in the league so far this season and going by Neil Lennon's comments he certainly wants the unbeaten run to continue for as long as possible.
Not only does the international break cause anxiety for fans waiting to get their much needed fix every weekend, it is also an uncertain time for the club managers who wait nervously for news on any injuries their players may have picked up while...

Celtic marked their return to league duty this weekend with a relatively straightforward victory against a toothless Motherwell side in Glasgow, after coming so close to gaining a heroic point against Spanish giants Barcelona earlier in the week in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The problems posed to them on Saturday afternoon by Stuart McCall's squad were considerably less than the problems that they faced when coming up against some of the best players in world football on Tuesday night, and Celtic subsequently made light work of their Scottish Premiership opponents to win by two goals and move three points above Inverness C.T in the league, with a game in hand over the Highland outfit against St Mirren, still to come.
On the day, it was goals from in-form striker Anthony Stokes and the ever...

After another night of the glitz and glamour of Barcelona on Tuesday, Celtic return to their bread and butter of the Scottish Premiership and a visit of Stuart McCall's Motherwell side. It has proved difficult in the past for Celtic to return to form after their midweek European excursions and they must be on guard against a very dangerous Motherwell outfit.

Matchday 2
Barcelona came to town on Tuesday to avenge last years shock result at Parkhead when the Bhoys ran out 2-1 winners against the Catalan giants. The game plan for the Hoops would have been exactly the same. Defend deep, allow the ball to be played wide to the Barca full backs and force them into deep crosses or shots from distance.
During the duration of the first half this is exactly what happened. The midfield duo of Brown and Mulgrew were able to stifle any kind of creativity through the middle of the pitch. Xavi and Iniesta were forced to play the ball wide to Neymar on Celtic's right side and to Alves on Celtic's left.
Barcelona's biggest weakness...
