Celtic's Evolving Philosophy, No More “Definition of Insanity,” & Planning for Success.
Robbie Keane, Freddie Ljungberg, Edson Braafheid & Diomansy Kamara. 4 examples of a now antiquated signing policy that Neil Lennon confirmed at the end of December had been consigned to the scrapheap.
While Keane did what he has done for the majority of his career – show an unerring eye for goal – the other three names are symbols of a transfer logic that promised much and resulted in great fanfare. But delivered little in terms of end product.
‘I don’t want to bring in any loan players because it won’t serve any purpose going forward,’ stated Lennon. ‘Any player we do bring in I would like to be permanent.”...
Turkish Delight as Celtic look forward to CL 2014.
As Neil Lennon’s Celtic side jet off to enjoy the Turkish sun – with the exception of Georgios Samaras who stays back to give final contemplation to a contract offer – Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of St Mirren finished off a profitable festive period in style.
While Lennon had (rightly) remarked that recent performances had lack cutting edge, the Bhoys raised the bar considerably on Sunday. Unlucky in a first half when the woodwork saved the Saints on more than one occasion, the seemingly inevitable barrage of goals came in a 2nd half performance which was spirited, incisive, and with no lack of cutting edge that had thwarted them in recent...

What will the transfer window bring for Celtic?
The games have come thick and fast for the Hoops over the festive and new year period. Even in the face of this we have come through it still unbeaten and well ahead at the top of the league. The consistency Celtic have shown this season is not in doubt. There are however just a few things that seem to be aching Hoops fans all over the world.
Firstly there can be no doubt that our current unbeaten run is impressive considering we first started competitive matches all the way back in July. Yet this team shows in patches what they are capable of. I don't think there are many fans who expect 5 and 7 nil thrashings every week, that simply isn't possible, but what I think Hoops fans do expect to a certain extent is...

Attempting to keep their undefeated start to the domestic league season going strong and end the calendar year on a high, Celtic's next challenge will come in the form of Inverness CT tomorrow afternoon up in the Highlands, a venue that can sometimes be far from easy to negotiate for opposing sides.
The Bhoys have started the league campaign very strongly this season though, unbeaten in all 17 games so far and also coming off the back of a narrow 1-0 victory against St Johnstone in Perth on Boxing Day, courtesy of something of a wonder goal from central defender Virgil van Dijk, who engaged in a marauding run from his own half, beat several players, and then coolly finished to net the eventual winning goal.
The safe money would be on the Hoops to pull off another...

To fly the flag, or not to fly the flag. That seems to be the question. But besides the farcical discussions surrounding the right of fans to bring along their banners and flags on Thursday, there is also a game of football going on in Perth on Boxing Day.
Will common sense prevail? It is very much up in the air..
The month of December has been one of highs and lows for...
