St. Johnstone vs Celtic

One of Sammy's Last Games?

Ever since the split Celtic have opened up slightly. Conceding three goals against Motherwell and then another two against Aberdeen, this has certainly not been the norm this season. Then again if we are winning these games by scoring 4,5,6 goals i don't really see the problem.

The shackles which have been removed have resulted in more attractive games on the eye being played. The complete dismantling of a competent Dundee United and Aberdeen side, both fighting to secure European positions, was a joy to behold. A few gaps and openings have crept in along the back-line but this is to be expected with a more attacking approach now being used.

As the season draws to a close there will be players in...

Celtic vs. Aberdeen
Scottish Professional Football League
Saturday 3rd May, KO 15:00
Celtic Park

We have now come to the final three games of the season and tomorrow sees the League Champions take on the League Cup winners Aberdeen at Paradise in the afternoon.

Celtic are heading into the match after a smashing display against Caley Thistle last week which saw the Hoops win a comfortable 6 - 0 victory. Having procured 3pts from the match, the bhoys are a step closer to blazing through the 100pts watermark, but they absolutely must win their next three games to do so.

Aberdeen are 4pts ahead of Motherwell as they battle it out to see who will finish 2nd place on the league table and secure a coveted position in Europe for next season, and they will no-doubt come out strong against the Hoops tomorrow to win those 3pts. This season has not been the best for Celtic against...

Celtic 6 - 0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Celtic rebounded from a disappointing draw last week against Motherwell by one-upping their 5-0 performance against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in March with a scoreline of 6-0. The result kept alive the possibility that Celtic could finish the campaign above 100 points for the first time since 2002 – a silver lining to a year which proved difficult in non-league play.
It took over half an hour for the deadlock to be broken, but while the goal was deserved not many could have foreseen the 6-goal onslaught that would proceed over the next 45 minutes of match play. The first of Anthony Stokes’ three goals came on 34 minutes as a result of a simple set piece. He rose to meet the ball where the ICT...

Celtic vs. ICT
Scottish Professional Football League
Sunday 27th April, KO 15:00
Celtic Park

The league has been secured and there are only a handful of games left to play as the countdown to the end of the season blazes hot. ICT are coming off of a 0 – 0 performance against Aberdeen at home last weekend and hope to pass Dundee United for the fourth position on the table as they also try to keep St Johnstone at arm's length, and no doubt they'll come out strong against Lennon's side tomorrow.

With the league wrapped up, Celtic still have something to play for. There are still 12pts to be taken from the next four games and sitting comfortably at the top of the table with 89pts means that if Celtic can pull off those victories, we can break the 100pts barrier to finish the season in top form.

This Sunday is set to see the return of both Mulgrew and Matthews from their...
