Deila's dramatic deadline day duo
Ronny Deila has left all of his transfer business until the final few hours of the window. Dundee united duo, Gary Mackay Steven and Stuart Armstrong have signed for the Parkhead side.
Peter Lawwell and Ronny Deila just couldn't wait until the summer to bring in the Highland born winger Mackay Steven, and an increased offer for Stuart Armstrong saw Celtic take in two very exciting young players.
The dynamic duo have impressed most football fans in Scotland and it was only going to be a matter of time until a club like Celtic came sniffing around.
Armstrong who scored in a win over the hoops this season expressed his happiness with the dream move. “It’s a surreal feeling at the minute and there is a lot to take in. I’m really happy to be here. It...
Walk in the (abysmal) park, the Commons Conundrum, and “gulf is smaller” hilarity.
A thoroughly professional performance by Ronny Deila’s Celtic side yesterday saw them progress to their first domestic Cup final under his charge.
While we will read remarks regarding “Celtic should be disappointed they did not win by more,” in an attempt to downplay the procession this game became, this misses many of the main points.
While Craig Gordon could have easily been forgiven for forgetting what purpose the moving white ball served, as it eluded him for the majority of the ninety minutes, Celtic’s back four nullified everything Rangers had to throw at them.

Celtic made one change from their comfortable victory at Hamilton on Saturday afternoon, as they brought in recently injured Anthony Stokes to replace youngster Liam Henderson.
Celtic emerged quickly as they dominated the first few minutes of the game. In the 3rd minute Leigh Griffiths saw a shot fly past the post. However the Scotsman couldn't beat the trap and was rightly flagged offside.
On 5 minutes, Stefan Johansen was closed down quickly by the Motherwell defence. The Norwegian saw a shot glide wide of the post, as Celtic looked to pile the pressure on the Lanarkshire side early on.
Celtic continued to dominate the match, as...

Matthews wonder goal gets Celtic going
After a week away in the sunny climes of Gran Canaria it was back to SPL business. For the Hoops this season there has been a real title race on the cards. Not simply from Aberdeen but also possibly from a very exciting Dundee United side.
It has certainly been a transitional season, a frustrating one. Yet we still find ourselves in 4 competitions, with the league entirely in our own hands, a semi-final against the undead and a last 32 tie against one of the worlds biggest clubs. It is easy to blow our current league position out of the water in that Celtic shouldn't be playing catch up after christmas. That much is true, with the squad we have compared to the rest of the league its worrying but not disastrous...yet.

Celtic sign Dundee United winger Gary Mackay-Steven
Celtic have signed Scottish winger Gary Mackay Steven on a pre contract. Dundee United have confirmed that they rejected three offers from Sheffield United, who tried to take the 24 year old in this January transfer window.
But the Parkhead club have secured the Dundee United player for the summer, and the option to take him to Celtic Park this January is still open, with Dundee United demanding a minimum of £250,000.
"He is a player we have been looking at for a long time. If we can do something now, we will do it, but everything has its price." Ronny Deila
Mackay-Steven started of...
