Discuss Youssouf Mulumbu in the Ex Players area at TalkCeltic.net.
I always felt this way about Christie & have the same feeling with Kouassi. Hope i'm correct
Yep completely agree , the boy is hungry enough I think he still needs work in his temperment etc massive change in culture also he will adapt and if given his chance he’ll become a Pler
He can’t have that long left on his contract...after next year he will be in his last year!
Another waste of signing by the looks of things.
The thing is, this guy can play and on his day can be an absolute powerhouse. But on the other hand, even when he was at Killie he was not an automatic starter, and it wasn't because of injuries. There must be something else going on behind the scenes with him that meant he wasnt always first choice for Steve Clarke, let alone stepping up to the Celtic squad where BR has more choice in that area of the pitch.
There was an element of 'really?' when we signed him, that it was not an obvious area that needed attending, and more because we had missed out on McGinn and there was pressure to get someone in at the end of the last window that preceded his signing. Perhaps it's because we have seen CalMac really show his quality in that role when Brown was out, which co-incided with Christie taking his opportunities to cement his place in the manager's plans, which has meant Mulumbu slipping further down the pecking order, but it really only further raises questions about the lack of critical thinking that went on behind this signing.
Out of 20 league appearances, he started 17. Two of those 3 he didn’t start, he was just back from injury.
He was their best player by a distance.
This signing made sense at the time, a risk free no brainier..
Training with the youth team
What's happened with him ?
100% been a falling out.
Brendan was obviously so shocked by his horrendous 20 minute performance against RB Leipzig that he will never be allowed near the first team again.
That body language doesn’t look positive at all. Best to get rid of him then I suppose.
Don’t get why we signed him at all? Waste of a wage and never had a chance. If I’m honest he did impress me when he got a game.
More money wasted
Clear as day..
Been a few bad rumours about him and only been here a matter of month's. Then liking the Defoe tweet signing for them, showed his level of petulance for me..
Needs outing sharpish as he's clearly a bad egg..
He’s going on loan.
He was a free agent the whole window and we signed him so late despite knowing so much about him. He could have been on the plane to Austria with us for pre season, yet for some reason we left it so long. Either we couldnt secure other targets or we didnt have any.
Will never understand the way we operate.
A bit of a desperation signing in my opinion, but the guy clearly has ability.
looks the like the rumours of him talking badly about the team morale to outsiders (Boyd most likely) are true. I was happy with the signing at the time but for some reason has only been given 150 minutes of football in 4 months. Look, he could be training * for all we know, but one thing that * me right off is Rodgers giving limited game time to players that HE signs. Eboue Kouassi has been out of the picture from the day he signed for the club, so if he isn't good enough for us currently let him go out on loan. Compper could be the worst trainer in the world but * me at least give him a chance to play 90 minutes in the league at least, he probably has a better attitude than Boyata.
We have 35 players currently (37 including players out on loan) at our club and the scary thing is the dead wood isn't getting moved on, either get him released or play him- we don't need another player sitting at home watching eastenders on game day.
Aye it’s obvious McGinn was the No1 midfield option.. that’s why it was left so long. Not desperation, he was a good option at the time.
If hes training with the youths, liking sevco player signings, and generally went awol... then theres definately something wrong.
His signing was a no brainer. Very very good experienced player for free.
But needs to go now.
