Spanish friend of mine starting in Uni in Glasgow 18th September, does anyone know any decent places to stay for students? Hes coming up with me to watch Hearts at home in few weeks so any suggestions welcome. We have phoned around a few for him but they all seem full as he only got accepted on his course this week.
    Thanks in advance :50:

The price of student accommodation is extortionate nowadays, would depend on what his budget is and what he's looking for in terms of accommodation type. The new build flats down near Yorkhill seem very pricey for what they are. There's a wee newsagents shop on Byres Road that always used to advertise flats all the time about the west end, and further afield. Just up from the Aragon pub on the other side of the road.

It's worth contacting the Student Union at Glasgow: 0141 339 8697

6k? I'm gonna be renting out my 3 bedroom flat for around similar once it's ready. That's an absolute scam.

    A 3 bed for 500 a month? Where?

In regards to that student place, I'd assume bills and WiFi are included as well.

Yea all bills , wifi 24 hour staff etc.
Just moved into a five bed flat in kersland street 500 amonth all in so 6k again. That is the going rate in the west end for students . Can probably get cheaper but is close to uni and don’t want her staying in a dodgy area , for the sake of a few quid

Student accommodation! I hate the site of the words. 2 weeks ago the oldest was reading something of the internet and I noticed some numbers on it. 300 to be paid by mid August and 1700euro to be paid by the end of September for half term then the same to be paid just after xmass! I asked her what it was for and was told it was for student accommodation! Asked her how is she paying it to be then told with a laugh, don't be stupid Daddy, your paying it! Any chance yad give me some notice about it ffs! The joys of parenting:giggle1:. Have another 3 of the little * and the thought of it all depresses me:s:

Be closer to 600 but it's in Yoker. That wouldn't be with all bills etc though.

Same up here. Like I said above it'd be closer to 600 but still a good deal. In Yoker. Completely redoing the kitchen and bathroom right now so it'll be pretty sweet once everything's done.
