He'll only sign with us if he has no better options available in England. Personally I'll be glad to see the back of him and his hair

For me he either commits to a minimum 3 year deal, we've stuck by him and he wasn't always playing great,

or he leaves this summer and we get at least 8 million plus from down south, anything less we might as well keep him.

Yeah your right, if he doesn’t sign another contract and we get offered 7m we might as well turn it down.

Even if he signs a pre contract in January and leaves for free we would have got our 7 million worth

He scores a goal that gets us into the group stage, or sets it up, or * hot throughout the qualifying games then we've more than made our money's worth.

I just think we should be looking for 8 million plus because of who he linked with. I'm not stupid if we sold him for for 7 million it's not bad busines, just my opinion because of who he is being linked with and the ridiculous fees down south, for example Tom Cairney and a 15 million minimum value when Armstrong is a better player from what I've seen (doesn't mean he is, haven't seen him that much).

Good player, should attract a big fee. Sometimes their's just a need for a change. However the press do a great job winding everybody up. If the chance is their to push up the fee for Armstrong i'm all for it.
I think he'd do really well down south. There's also no point sitting around moping about it. People need to move on in life for various reasons, not always football related.
It looks like he mainly wants to do it for the right reasons, but i don't buy this notion footballers these days need a fallback career - in the legal profession. Not totally out of the ordinary, but football isn't a poor man's game anymore.
Surely if you put the two things together you'd be able to sort your finances now, for the future. You'd think someone with legal knowledge would then not require an agent. Which gets to the crux of the matter, his agent.

It might not be about the money for him.

Aye, he should be down a pit, mining coal.

Last person to be a professional footballer in England and go down the pit was who exactly?
You are right though, not all lawyers are dicks. 26 years old now and where's the law degree?

You might have missed this, but he is a professional football player, playing at Champions League and international level.

    This

While theres nothing wrong with ambition but I fail to see what he thinks he will achieve at a bang average EPL side that he cant here

Certainly CL football is something he can say goodbye to, as well as winners medals. In fact theres a higher probability he'll be in the championship within 2 seasons

It would appear that his apparent willingness to leave is purely financial and if that is indeed the case he can * off for a tidy fee

I was a big Armstrong fan even when he was being wrote off. But for the length of time he has been here and injuries, I don’t half get the feeling he didn’t throw himself into playing for the shirt. Sees it as an occupation with no emotional attachment. Unfortunately more of these players are starting to surface in the media age of football.
