Expected a better response Gyp I've never used spotify, only use apple music because I got a fee trial with my phone. Might try it once this expires.

 

Love it but the downloaded music to listen to offline is not quite as it says on the tin.
The music is downloaded to the app which will still require some internet access to play the saved music.
I have a patchy signal in some places and none whatsoever in others while out and about with work and if I am in one of those No Service areas the music will play to the end of the current song then stop.
* really as it isn’t completely ‘offline’. It does however not use the amounts of data as if you listened online of course.

I do like all these true crime podcasts n that though. Interesting as * and also help me drift off to sleep at night

 

I've not had any data on my phone for a few days now and can play my downloaded music just fine when out and about.

Are you actually downloading the albums and not just saving them?

If you use it outside you should be able to put on airplane mode and when you turn on spotify it will say "Spotify is Offline"

At bottom though will be some options including "albums" "playlists" etc...

If you click on albums it should take you to your downloaded albums and viola!

 

It is easily the best app on my phone.

In a world of gross expensiveness where there is an overall lack of value for money, Spotify is the saviour.

To pay £4.99 a month for the availability of all that music, is quite possibly criminal. But I’m not complaining.

I deleted and unsubscribed Spotify.




Took the plunge in to amazon music unlimited. Same price, seemingly more music but to me it's about the same for what I use. App is pretty decent to be fair, but it lacks the greatness of the daily play lists that you would get on Spotify. But it's getting there.
Took the plunge to streamline more of my subscription stuff, kindle, Video, music now all one place. Then to top it off, paid it off in one annual payment, which combined with being a prime member already, makes it cheaper still.

 

I accidentally clicked on that and my phone started playing music.

Thought I was tripping for a minute.

 

I find the sound quality is noticeably better on Apple music over Spotify. It's especially apparent when paired over Bluetooth.

I've still a month of my free Apple trial. I'm still not sold on it. The choice of music is great, but the interface is too basic and the playlists are crap. Most of the playlists I choose end up being all the same bands and songs. Either the people creating the playlists lack imagination, or Apple is trying to get certain bands more listens.
