Good player for LOI, always see him getting a goal and playing in a very good cork team at the moment.
But no chance ahead of griff and moussa and even then the limited chances he could get would be better given to aitchison.

Would be a poor move for him more than anything. he is developing , came on alot as player last season. But he still wouldnt warrant the chances to further that with us.

I saw this boy playing when he was underage for Waterford. Was absurdly impressive, even if you consider that it was LOI's second tier. I am not exaggerating, I am brazilian, I have been obsessed about football since I learned to talk, and I have never been to a match in flesh where a player impressed so much. So much that he left for West Ham afterwards at the age of 18.

Now, I don't know what went wrong that 4 years later he is a Cork City (with all due respect). I still think he is worth the punt but don't expect the new Henrik Larsson from it.

This sounds interesting, might be worth pursuing. That get out clause at only £150,000 is a snip.

That's a lot of money for a LOI player.

I've watched him a few times and been impressed, has a healthy knack of scoring goals. He is probably good enough to play in the SPFL but a jump to Celtic would be too much for him I think.

Seen him playing for Rovers few years back and the guy was pathetic, missing sitters left right and centre and just seemed to be uninterested half the time.

Seems to have found a new lease of life at Cork though, but I would still say NO, the guy is just not Hoops material IMO.

You say you think, there is only one way to find out, sign him, £150,000 would be a low risk investment.
You never know, there might be another Anthony Stokes in him.

If he's another Anthony Stokes then he'd struggle to get on the bench. If we sign another striker they have to be able to compete with Moussa and Griff.

That's true but any player is going to have to face that competition unless of course Dembele is transferred.
Maybe Maguire would be up for the challenge. I think you do Stokes a disservice all the same, he had a great record here, until his difficulties with Ronny.

Stokes has a pretty good record but he was an SPFL level player, nothing more. Couldn't cut it in Europe. Whoever we sign should be signed with an eye on Europe.

I very much doubt a 22 year old striker playing in the LOI is going to be a better player than Griffiths, never mind Dembele. Therefore it would be a pointless signing. We'd be better off giving Aitchison a go.

Sign him for 150k than immediately loan him to Hibs to see how he fares in the SPL.

I am not against giving Aitchison a chance as he looks a good prospect. But I think we should always keep an eye out for new talent and Maguire is the top scorer in Ireland with 29 goals. As regards Stokes I think it is a myth that he never did well in Europe, the few chances he got he was played out of position as the solo striker, when he played on the wing he looked like he could do some damage or as a No.10. We should have kept Stokes and punted GMS instead.

Henrik Larsson was playing in the swedish fourth tier when he was 21. I really believe Sean McGuire can be useful for Celtic.

    It's a point.

I appreciate what he's saying but it doesn't change my opinion. We should be aiming higher than a striker who is playing in the LOI.
