Today I re-learned that surds are roots of numbers that are irrational.

Today I learned that the Peugeot V10 engine in the 1994 McLaren MP4/9 was regarded as a 'hand grenade' due to crushing reliability issues that caused the team to have a horrible season, failing to pick up a Grand Prix win for the first year since 1980. They switched to Mercedes engines the next year, kicking off a largely successful partnership that went on to net drivers titles for Hakkinen and eventually Hamilton.

If someone tans your vehicle window and the police see it, they'll compound it and you need to pay 400 quid to get it back.

Engineer in work woke up to no van outside this morning, phoned the police and told them it's been nicked, they can't put 2 and 2 together and tell you it was * them that took it until you've given them the tracker info 5 hours later :97:

    That would be infuriating.

To make it even worse the police haven't told the compound to release it whilst they are investigating the matter.

The compound charge 20 quid a day and that's before you've paid 100 quid to get the window replaced and another 40 getting the thing valeted.

Imagine that happened to a wee one man band plumber of joiner or something? Guts of a grand down because someone tried to steal your tools right before Christmas.

Whole thing doesn't seem right to me.

Bruce Willis turned down the lead role in the film Ghost as he thought the ghost concept was stupid, but he ended up kicking himself and that's part of the reason he took his role in the sixth sense.

    According to my sister anyway.

Where did you relearn that, mate? I loved Maths and it's been 22 years since I left school. I really fancy relearning some of it.

The pirates skull and crossbones goes back 2000 years to when they used to put bones in ossuarys in Jerusalem, the boxes were just big enough to fit the femur bones in as a cross and skull went on top in middle.
