My team vs my moms team. Hockey fights cancer night on the day my mom has surgery to battle cancer, can't make this * up :giggle1:. IMG_3741.JPG

Went to Calgary vs Minnesota last Saturday. Friend got a box, so the pints and food were free :35:. Flames played like * but still a solid night out.

Lucky. I ended up shelling out $55 for food and drinks at the Canucks game a couple of weeks ago.

Just absolute filth from Matthews. My favourite player outside of Boston. Classy, skilled, slick. The celebration and the goal are just too satisfying, can't even deny it as a B's fan.

    Daniel Sedin 1000 points.

The ultimate pro. Some of the young guys starting to come through as well and the Canucks finally have something to look forward to.

Of course, it helps that Willie Desjardins is gone. Last season's hockey was coma inducing.

First day of the World Junior tournament today, as well as the Spengler Cup, which I know has a few fans on this site.

World Junior tournament is some of the best puck you can watch, and the Spengler Cup is always great as well.

Good tilt tonight. Tim Schaller takes exception to a high hit on Noel Acciari.

Canada vs USA, outdoor game at Ralph Wilson stadium on December 29th in the World Junior Championship. Cold, snowy, should be a great game!

Canada wins the 2017 Spengler Cup! They beat the Swiss National team 3-0 in the final. Kevin Poulin was terrific in goal. This team will have quite a few players representing Canada in the Olympics, I hope they try and keep the core together and keep this chemistry.

JT Miller wins the 2018 Winter Classic in OT. Rangers beat the Sabres 3-2. Great atmosphere I must say.

Could go along nicely beside Horvat to give you a 1-2 punch of Boeser and Petterson.

Bruins vs Habs - first meeting of the season tonight at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The Celtic vs Rangers of hockey. Can't wait, even if they will forever be the kryptonite of Boston, regardless of how * they have been and how great the B's have played.

No better feeling in hockey than beating the Habs.

@CalgaryBhoy What's the craic with the fighting? Do the refs just allow a punch up?

A bit of a dying art these days now. If 2 players square up and want to go, they will let them fight. But if the fight evolves from a scrum or anything around the boards or the front of the net, the refs usually get in between the players these days.

NHL is trying to clean up the image of the game, and I think even the players are starting to change there ways a bit with the recent research done in concussions and stuff. The enforcer role is basically non-existent in hockey anymore. Fighting is down 70 or 80% in the last 10 seasons I believe.
