When Ajax are selling players for £75m then it’s easy to think we were robbed getting £20m for him.

Ajax are in the Champions League Quarter Finals after pumping Real Madrid in their own back yard. Dembele is a good player for sure but he's not on the level of a De Jong or De Ligt in my opinion (different positions I know). £20m was definitely fair I reckon.

They weren’t when they got £75m for him though mate:fear:

Not saying he’s worth £75m but should be getting £30m/£35m in this market.

Our own fan's used to say he was overrated and wasn't worth more than 20..

    He clearly was..

I see where you're coming from if you rate Dembele very highly. I don't happen to believe his ceiling is that much higher than Lyon. I don't see him becoming a top class striker.

The bigger travesty was Virgil leaving for whatever fee we got for him (£12m?). We all knew he was something really really special.

    - and no they hadn't beaten Madrid when the fee was agreed but that performance now justifies the fee Barcelona paid. They obviously saw something others hadn't seen yet.

We did get fleeced wi the transfer fee for Dembele, cause we're a Scottish club they seen us coming, if Lyon wanted to buy Dembele from an English or Spanish club they'd have to paid at least double of what we got.

Could see him end up at a club like arsenal for another £75 mill fee.

Honestly believe Mbappe, Demeble & Demeble are future of France national team.

That’s the thing though - had he been bought from an EPL or La Liga team he would’ve likely been doing at least reasonably well in either of those leagues and as such commanded a much higher fee.

For me, us getting better money when it comes to shifting on our star players is helped a lot by the success of VVD, Dembele and Wanayama (although he’s fallen out of favour), as does getting £20m for Demebele. I guess that’s what we need to try and do each time - push the price upwards so instead of our star player costing £8m, they’re not £12m, and then £20m and so on.

Even if (and it's obviously debatable) @Slaw is right, it's not like OL are a low ceiling anyway. If he's one of their better players, he's definitely worth £30 million or more in the EPL.

We were definitely ripped off, hes only played about 35 games for them but would already cost £50-60million.

Lacazette went for £40m and if it wasn’t for Ibra and having Cavani to move into the role you suspect he’d have ended up at PSG

Hopefully we got a 15% sell on clause seeing how late in the day the bid was.

Celtic will again be in the money if Moussa Dembele is sold by Lyon this summer.

The Frenchman left the Hoops for £19.8million last August but his former team could be quids in with a pair of Premier League giants circling.

The 22-year-old is enjoying a strong season in Ligue 1 and Manchester United and Arsenal are eyeing a move for the striker, according to the Mirror .

A deal for Demeble would be music to Celtic's ears with the Premiership champions inserting a sell-on clause when he moved to Ligue 1.

The Premiership champions have reaped the rewards of forward planning in the past and earned an extra cool £7.5million when Virgil van Dijk moved to Liverpool for £75m in 2018.

That 10 per cent sell-on fee was a significant boost to the Parkhead coffers and goes towards attracting new talent to Glasgow.

And Lyon chief Jean-Michel Aulas is regarded as one of the toughest negotiators in football and would be looking for a sizeable fee which is good news for Celtic.

Dembele has netted 14 goals in all competitions and has impressed in 2019 after becoming OL's first pick to lead the line.

His knack of finding the net is an obvious appeal but it's his excellent hold-up play and aerial prowess which sets him apart from his peers.

Lukaku could be on the move (Image: X03807)
Manchester United have Romelu Lukaku, who offers similar qualities and the Belgian has been linked with Serie A giants Juventus and Inter Milan.

Dembele left Celtic under a cloud last summer but has won over the Parkhead faithful with a host of stinging social media posts aimed at former boss Brendan Rodgers.

The pair's relationship disintegrated in the striker's final days in Glasgow but the France U21 star came out swinging after Rodgers left Celtic high and dry when the manager moved to Leicester.

Wonder if it’s a 10% one or maybe more? Still nice win fall when not if it happens.

He was class and still gutted he moved on! Zombie slayer
