    Turkish papers apparently reporting that Celtic are trying to hijack a loan move for the subject player registered with Chelsea. Source is teamtalk.com though, hmmm. Here is the article anyway.

    Reports in Turkey claim Celtic are trying to hijack Galatasaray’s move for Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic.

    Gala were believed to be leading the chase for the 22-year-old, who is also believed to be interesting Leeds and Real Betis.

    Now though Turkish outlet Sporx report that Brendan Rodgers is keen on Pasalic and they have entered talks with Chelsea over a summer move for the Croatian.

    Pasalic’s agent Marko Naletilic told Estadio Deportivo: “There are a lot of clubs interested. I can only say that there are a lot of clubs interested in Pasalic of which Betis is one.

    “Betis are an important club in Spain and Europe, for whom I have great respect.”

    New Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen was reported to interested in the player, who was loaned to AC Milan last season.

    Valencia, Lazio and Milan are also understood to be interested in the player, who is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Chelsea. And the Blues want to sign him up despite never kicking a ball for the first team.

    Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed Chelsea want to renew his deal before sending him out on loan again.

    The £2million Hajduk Split signing in 2014 has spent the last three seasons on loan at Elche, Monaco and AC Milan and another temporary spell looks likely with Celtic now in the race.

    Turkish paper Milliyet reported that Antonio Conte had given Galatasaray, who are managed by his former Juventus team-mate Igor Tudor, the all clear to sign Pasalic.

    If he's entering the final year of his contract maybe we have a chance of a permanent switch? The player Rodgers talked about was going to cost us a bit of money so can't see this being the player we were linked with it it's just a loan.

    Are our entire scouting network based at Chelsea's academy? I know they have a million players on loan everywhere and they seem to be tapping all the best young players, but still, it seems like we've got a new Dudu Dahan (or whatever his name is..).

    You do realise this is the media making these stories up, right ?

    Even if it were true, it wouldn't exactly be the worst move we made. They have got an unreal amount of potential top class players in their youth ranks.

    Been discussing it in the non-media thread but he fits the description of the guy Rodgers has been hinting at the past few days.

    Young, yet experienced, strong and powerful and would require a good fee to get him.

    Armstrong has become a fantastic player under BRs coaching and mentoring, he is now one of the main players in the squad imo.....I'm hoping that Brendan convinces him to stay

    For me it would be pasalic and armstrong * it out for one spot. Brown and eboue for the other. Rogic and McGregor in front.
    Benji as 5th choice and the project development.

    As a mater of interest how many youth players actually come through the Chesea youth set up? I lost intetest in the EPL when I stopped gambling ha but the fact they have so many good youth players do any of them actually make the first team.. ?
