    Seen panic in a crash before and it goes quick but on a helicopter knowing you're gonna die....must be the worst feeling you could experience..

    Grew up idolising him, as much for his mentality as his ability. A truly incredible talent, but it was his mindset that set him apart and made him one of the true greats.

    If you’ve not seen it, his (Oscar winning) short film “Dear Basketball” about his retirement is well worth a watch, though a bit of a heart wrencher tonight.

    Tragic regarding Kobe, compounded by the death of his daughter as well. As a parent, I cannot imagine the hole that will be left for the remaining family members & loved ones - I know close friends & relatives who have suddenly lost their young children, a hole that is never filled

    I still remember the trade with the Charlotte Hornets involving Vlade Divac for the phenom that was Kobe & the excitement it generated over the years. Have been away from the game for awhile but will definitely immerse myself in old videos of him, some great memories. RIP
