Don't see why he would want to go to Burnley. I can see the appeal of Spartak.

Can't see it myself. Think he's just being rested as a precaution. Possibly carrying slight injury.

Burnley play in a stronger league and would give him a sh*tload of cash. Footballers are, by and large, mercenaries these days so.......

Seems like he has a * of an agent, looking for a move every * transfer window.

He has it all here, first choice CB, great club, CL football, world class manager, the love of the fans, I'm sure a decent wage, chance to win medals...
I can't understand his logic or reasoning for wanting to leave, apart from money, so if he does go, he'll go down as a * in my book.

Hope it's all bullshit and he stays though.

Exactly! Can imagine he is really up for playing Bayern and PSG. Does well in those games and far far better teams than Burnley will be after him.

Wind your neck in, just last year we tried to punt him.

Don't think this will happen anyway.

Aye, true. At least when VVD and Wanyama went to Southampton they were a team on the up, playing good football, and a team who the big hitters would look to buy players from. Why the * choose Burnley, you'd essentially have to move TO a Southampton or Everton FROM Burnley to then go on to one of the big sides.

Play well in the CL and much better and richer teams than * Burnley will be after him.

If we sell our core players to clubs like Spartak or * Burnley after we got only two seasons out of them despite having Cl football and a proper manager, than I would be very much worried what our ambitions are. And seriously 10M *.

    Doubt we are selling him.

If we did I'd be seriously worried about the future of our club.

We should be buying more players and strengthening not selling our best CB

Doubt we're selling and I actually believe that the reason he hasn't played is down to injury/precaution.

The guy has an injury history and seems to just be an injury prone player so it's no surprise he's out. Bear in mind as well that he failed a medical at Torino so there are clearly some underlying issues there, albeit it was a year ago and when he was on the way back from a serious injury so something may have been flagged. I also heard he wanted the move to be closer to home in Croatia, but that was when he wasn't playing after something of a nightmare start so it's no surprise he wasn't settled; these things change.

Can't see him wanting to leave for Burnley considering he's our first choice central defender and we just qualified for the CL; he also seems to play like a player who really enjoys his football here. We can't really afford to sell him at this moment in time anyway - we'd have no recognized CBs available. Maybe something could be done in January once Boyata and Sviatchenko are back but at this moment in time I can't see it.
