Harrison Burrows is a name that's been mentioned elsewhere as a potential solution to Celtic's left-back problem.

But SunSport understands there's nothing in the claims and the Hoops aren't interested in the 22-year old Peterborough man.

 

Being tall may actually be a disadvantage for full backs. More often than not, undersized players are more explosive/mobile and have better stamina. These are vital traits for full backs who are expected to run up and down the pitch. For instance, the best LB and RB I've seen in my lifetime are both undersized: Roberto Carlos at 1.68 and Dani Alves at 1.72.

Burrows is 1.80. He isn't exactly tall, more like average. Just saying that height isn't necessarily a requirement. Personally, I actually prefer short players at the wings (full backs, wing backs, wingers).

Peterborough have publicly said on more than one occasion we are a * nightmare to deal with. Surely we are aware of that and going in all guns blazing for him?

 

Barry fry wasn't asking for much when we went for Ivan toney think he was 23 at the time and had rattled in 23 gls in 32 apps and was asking for 6 million.

Taylor has been targeted due to his height and lack of speed mainly. I'd be happy to 'gamble' on this one.

 

Depressing as * the one player you think could be decent appears to be made up nonsense.

 

Watched him on sky against Derby recently and looked a player..

 

Best RB I've seen for Celtic is Frimpong at 1.71. Juranovic at 1.73 comes to mind as well. Tierney is 1.80. He isn't exactly tall, more like average. Was never a fan of Lustig, but that's just me. Left a lot be desired going forward. Always reliable defensively though.

Ange was after a dominant/physical DM. Unfortunately, Abildgaard was clearly a flop. I bet Kwon was on our radar prior to Ange's departure. If we want more physicality, the position in question should be DM. Physical DMs can operate as 3rd centre halves when we are defending, plus it's far more difficult to get exposed due to limited pace.

You want another example? Look at Liverpool under Klopp. Most of the years he was starting a tall/strong DM in Fabinho. Neither Robertson nor TAA is a tall/strong full back. Klopp's gegenpressing reminds me of Angeball. Not sure why we changed our philosophy under Rodgers. The team was a joy to watch the last couple of seasons.
