Discuss David Turnbull in the Transfer Rumours area at TalkCeltic.net.
Still in the dark with all this ITK business
Short for "in the know", which is also short for "in the knowledge".
Which is short for international thespian knowledgeables
...which is short for “You are safe in the knowledge that I know absolutely * all of any relevance.”
I always assumed it was "I talk keech"
Depends who is using it.
Media could just be putting 2 and 2 together but think Hammond's first task if he takes over will be bringing Turnbull in..
Pretty obvious we will be back for him I know..
Is he back playing yet?
Nah December am sure they said
I'd be inclined to wait until the end of the season to see if he can recover and regain his form after surgery. There's no way he goes straight into our team as it is just now.
Would be madness to sign him now imo. Still think Ewan Henderson is a better prospect for us and he can't find a starting place as it is.
Aye I just don't see what the benefit is, other than us getting him in to our own rehab team.
There wasn't an avalanche of teams interested once we found his issue and I don't think there will be before he's shown on the football park that he's came through it well.
If he does well after the winter break til May then by all means go back in.
I'm a big fan of Henderson but given his lack of game-time and loan out, Lennon doesn't see him as an immediate first-team player.
Honestly, I've not seen enough of Turnbull to compare the 2 but his stats do look good. If Lennon wants him then I will bow down to his superior knowledge as he done more than enough in that transfer window to gain our trust.
Yeah he obviously has something about him to come into Motherwell's team at that age and get goals from midfield like he did. I just don't see the need to go all out for him when that's still only 6 months of proper football that he's shown good form.
Henderson obviously is a different style of player but in terms of pecking order I wouldn't be in a rush to spend £2-5m just to move a good prospect further down it. I'm all for signing young talent but we have plenty midfielders just now.
I suspect the reason that we might move for him in January is to factor in the risk and hope try to lower the asking price but aye I'm thinking along the same lines as yourself.
Think we'll sign him and loan him back for the game time.
That’s why we sent Henderson to Ross County to play there but I haven’t heard or read anything that makes him standout tbh
I think this is a good idea
I really like Henderson too and I think we could loan him out for a few seasons and hopeully benefitt in the same vein as we did with Christie going to Aberdeen for a few seasons.
Id imagine if we sign Turnbull, that Ntcham might move on as id struggle to see how we could justify it.
Turnbull for Ntcham would be a bit of a downgrade for me, but I agree with what you say about Henderson. Not sure how much he's featured for county but he's still young. Looks a player.
Still can't justify signing Turnbull while we have Ewan coming through.
