Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait

Discussion in 'TC Media' started by Raz, May 14, 2009.

    Anyone seen this?

Rented and watched it an it's brilliant.

For anyone who doesnt know what its about; they basically filmed Zidane for a whole game against Villareal back in 2005 (i think) and the movie is just watching him for the whole game.

Some bits are boring but overall its excellent, it's something every football fan has to see imo :50:

    Heres the trailer for it.

  1. i thought it was beautifully shot but boring after a while, dont think i watched the whole thing. zidane was a real hot head, wasn't he?

  2. Aye there was A LOT of boring bits tbh, but its to be expected.

He was a hot head ye, didnt expect him to be so quiet on the pitch either.

  3. zidane was never one to give bollockings etc, very much an individual. incredibly graceful on the pitch for such a big fella. a joy to watch but i also like to see the rest of the game!

  4. Got on DVD. Love it, extremely relaxing. Brilliant soundtrack from Mogwai, fitting for a brilliant player.

  5. Watched it one night while semi-drunk at about 1 in the morning. Pretty surreal to watch a match like that. I might be cynical but it seemed that Beckham and Roberto Carlos in particular knew that the cameras were rolling on Zidane and were all over him like a rash.

Good to watch though, bit boring at times.

As Messi says though great soundtrack, will be finally getting a chance to watch Mogwai at T this year :50: And yes very relaxing film.

  6. Still no watched it but I've listened to the album loads of times, if that counts.

  7. Yea lads its really relaxing, tried watching it in bed at midnight the other night an it put me to sleep :52:

  8. i get the same thing when i watch rangers

  9. I watched the start bit and thought it was great but got bored quite quickly.

Then there is a weird bit is there not? Like a bit that isnt about the game itself. Can anyone help me out there?

  10. Yea at HT if i remember correctly?

It tells you other events that happened on the day of the game.
(if thats the bit you're on about)

  11. i bought this for 5£, its a real football fans film though, my son hated it, but i found it facinating,

  12. Yeah thats the bit.

  13. I thought it was mesmerising. I've got it on dvd and I could watch it again and again. I was told by a stato mate of mine that in the '98 final, ZZ was in contact with the ball for 3 seconds of the entire match and he scored 2 goals! Haven't verified it yet.

NB; it was a Scottish guy who made the film too.
