Who would you play in defence against PSG?

This is the strongest we've been in years upfront and in midfield, which makes it even more hard to take that we're going into CL games with a weak central defence. We could be brilliant in midfield and attack but if we're useless in defence all our good work will go unrewarded. Brendan Rodgers can do no wrong in most people eyes but this is his first big mistake. A quality centre half should have been signed to play along side Jozo. Attempts were made to bring in a CB but there is no excuse, there were decent CB's out there that could have been signed.

So what is it now? Bitton in defence? * playing in CB with Ralston at right back? Back 3?

Dont like being negative but its disappointing we're going into the group stages of the CL with a patched up defence that could be badly exposed. This could so easily have been avoided.

Lustig, jozo and Tierney with forrest and mcgregor as wing backs

 

I would go for-

Gamboa Lustig Simunovic Tierney

 

Lustig Simunovic Ajer Tierney

or

Tierney Lustig Simunovic McGregor


Both of these are very unlikely, it'll be:

Lustig Simunovic Bitton Tierney

 

Gamboa would be ideal for this in my opinion with his pace but * knows what's happened there. Realistically I'd probably go Bitton at cb. Just feel it's easier having just him playing out of position than Lustig doing it as well as a youngster in at full back as well.

One thing I'll say for Bitton is that last season Sviatchenko - and I like him - was majorly guilty of panicking and launching ridiculous balls down the channels. Bitton will keep the ball and put us under less unnecessary pressure.

 

PSG are nothing.

Lustig at centre back and Gamboa. Dont care but Brendan has got it wrong not atleast not trying that out.

Why would I be taking the *.

 

If Bitton plays at CB against PSG we are *, the guy is about our 5th or 6th choice midfielder yet we are shoe horning him into CB. It's a total riot imo but if Brendan is happy to go with it who am I to argue.

 

There's no real solution we either try something new , play players without match fitness or go with * bitton

 

Yep, bit of a * shambles to be honest. This wont go down well but im going to say it anyway...Brendan has * this up, he should have made getting a decent CB his no.1 priority in the transfer window.

Im not buying any excuses that none were available or we missed out on our targets, we had plenty time to sign a CB and it didnt happen, poor show.

 

Got to be a defender , bitton cannot play there or we are * , move lustig in there and gamboa at RB for me.

 

The whole thing is a cluster * and is exactly why we needed a CB brought in, yes we can switch players into that position. But * me this is arguably the biggest competition in football and we will be punished as such.

 

I would personally have put a CB signing ahead of signing Ntcham, yes we needed a player of his ilk in there but not as much as a new CB for me.

 

Will probably be Lustig, Ajer, Jozo, Tierney
