What must Lennon achieve, next season and beyond, in order for his tenure to be considered a success?

The European Cup judging by some of the expectations of grandeur from the bloggers and ungrateful idiots on here.

Win the league and get one of the cups. Get to the group stages of the CL or the last 16 of the EL.

I agree that the league is the main priority now, as it always is, but the league alone would be totally unacceptable, for me.

Well clearly the main focus always will be the league and Euro qualifications.

However, will people be happy at a season of mind numbing 1-0 wins scraping through games by the skin of our teeth?

Has this opinion now changed since the RD days? I remember taking pelters on here criticising the football played under him at times with replies such as "we got the 3 points that's all at matters"

Now we have seen under part of Rodgers reign what we are capable of playing like (domestically at least) I wonder how much leeway Lennon will be given if he is getting results but the product on the pitch is woeful

    Why?

It's crazy to think of us HAVING to do the quad treble , if it happens then good , getting 9 means more than that.

Treble treble is unheard of, and not making it more means failure or unacceptable, * i grew watching them win everything ( old rangers ) winning a Scottish cup meant everything to me , so let that mean everything to them if the get it , the league no1.

I'd take 2 league titles right now without a cup

A successful season for me would be:

    Win the League.
    Win a Cup.
Qualify for CL or EL group stage.

    Double acceptable then ?

Trying to get far in Europe is far different too compared to 10 years ago for talking sake , the money has blew up crazy , we cant compete unless we hit a run of form against the top clubs.

But yeah I'd take only winning the league, Qualify for CL , 9 in a row will please me, give hibs the cups I really wouldn't care.

Guide us to 10iar. If he wins nothing else apart from those two titles I think it's far to say most of us will be happy.

I don't mean he should have such limited ambition. I'm just pointing out how difficult the next two years will be due to the abnormal pressure.

Once it's done we can start to think about the bigger picture and Europe without any distractions.

I think that the league, a cup, and European group stage football are reasonable expectations for a club in our position.

Of course, those expectations would change if we were to underperform or overperform in one or more of the competitions.

He should definitely be picking up a cup or two over the next two years; but I consider a double with CL qualification a successful season and a league with no cups but with CL qualification acceptable.

    In order:

    The league
    CL qualification
    make CP a fortress again*
    One or both cups

All 4 is a successful season; but the top two alone is acceptable.

    * By this I mean something different from what it meant in the past: we are definitely going to lose some of our games at home in the modern financial situation; but no team should just rock up to CP and rip us apart without a fight. Any team that leaves CP should absolutely know they've been in a game and no team should ever look forward to playing here.

That was by far the most disappointing thing about Brendan's time here.
