What does Strachan do now?

After putting three strikers on to Motherwell away, can he change back to a 4-4-2 with two strikers for a home game against St Mirren? He would then be contradicting himself as it doesn't matter what the opposition are doing we are the better team and dont need to worry about them.

I hope he stays 4-3-3 especially at home where we need more forwards on to break teams down only i'd leave out Jan and play McGeady as a striker.

he wont be contradicting himself. imo he had to go 4-3-3 due to the mess of a pitch. we will revert back to 4-4-2 as we are going to be playing on grass n i bet you any money we beat st mirren about 3/4-0. if he goes 4-3-3 it will fail yet again cause as i mentioned in another thread there is no midfield what so ever. we played against motherwell thinking the high ball to the big men would work but it clearly didnt as they are * at the moment. we need to have 4 across midfield again and from now on in my opinion.

 

I hope he goes 4-3-3 as then we can drag the ball relly wide at park head. I agree with playing McGeady but he has not got much of a shot has he...

 

The only reason he played 4-3-3 yesterday was because of the state of the pitch. He won't be playing that formation every week. You can be sure we'll be back to 4-4-2 again at the weekend.

Celtic will up the tempo for the first ten minutes, and then if we don't score, the tempo will drop to snails pace as per usual. Both strikers will drop deep too often, and both wingers will have to cut back to their other foot to cross, allowing the opposing defence an opportunity to get back.

The defence will * themselves should anyone run at them, and McManus and Naylor will belt it up the park and lose possession. We'll zonal defend at set pieces, and should we get the first ball clear, well have not one player looking for the rebound, like so many times this season.

Why do we need 4 across midfield, the more forwards we have on the less the opposition are going to attempt to come forward so not only do we then limit them from attacking us we give ourselves a better chance of beating them. Common sence to me, something I have always disliked about Strachan is his stale tactics were the same player does the same thing in every game, no wonder we can't win when all our players have played the same teams over and over again like repeats of the games we've had against them. There's only so much repitition that can happen before the smaller team see an easy way to stop us.

Nakamura always plays on the right, how many times have the left backs of the SPL came up against him? 6 times at least each, same with McGeady. Yet look at Man Utd, Ronaldo plays on the left, he plays on the right, he plays up top on the right or the left. There is an unpredictability about Ronaldo because Man Utd realise he's got to have that or else people will just snuff him out. Celtic have no unpreidctability we do the same thing with the same players in every game.

 

Na, 3-2-5 would work better.

He had on 3 strikers but as far as I could see Sammy was a winger.

 

Change the strikers surely they just ain't doing the job for us, this is why i cant wait for Maloney to be back think he is a big player for us especially in attack would rather play him over McGeady right now 4-3-3 is good but its pointless if your strikers cant score.

hes bn * since he took the captains armband, caldwell should be captain. hes the one whos always talking to the press and doing the talking on the park. i prefer odea to him hes never done anything wrong plus hes better on the ball

 

What does strach do now?. . .he should take those players on a team bonding exercise, because they're playing like a bunch of girl guides at the minute.
