so you're saying Brown is deadwood?

Ki would bring in alot more money because of his nationality and isn't a starter so i would be selling him first.

do you really think lenny is going to sell his captain who has just signed a long term contract and has said he would happily finish his playing career here. as for rhodes that will never happen teams in the epl will offer a lot more money for him than we can

IMO Hooper is a far better player than Rhodes. Rhodes has had a good 6 months in league 1, compare that to Hooper who has performed at a much higher level than rhodes. I find it bizarre that you think Rhodes is better than Hooper tbh

This team aint brilliant, we have a few good players like Hooper, Ledley, Forest and one or two others, but i fear the board will sell one or two of our best in the summer.

all we need to do is keep the key players and maybe bring in another centre forward. it'll be well and hearts challenging us for league next season which this squad will easily handle that, and this squad is a decent Europa League team.

No reason others like him can't come through, as well. Have to bear in mind that we've managed to sign a few CL players in the last couple of years for a paltry sum of money, ie. Wanyama, Hooper, Izaguirre, etc.

Can you tell me how getting rid of players strengthens our Champions League chances? I agree with selling, apart from Ki and maybe Sammy.. but you say nothing about replacing them.

The Squad is massive mate ,I think it has 34 registered 1st team players which is to many ,That means there is also a massive wage bill but if Lennon has a clear out it will free up x amount of money.

Hopefully instead of buying squad players ,he can get a better quality of player who will be playing 1st team football .

Lennon could possibly let as many as 10 players leave and maybe get 2-3 in ,but that squad has to drop in numbers.

Punt the deadwood, try and keep the quality we have. Get Forster in, a striker (maybe Brozek but we'll see how he does first) back up LB, maybe another CB and that's it really.

I'd be happy if we had this squad next season

GK's : Forster, Zaluska, Youth Keeper Promoted

    RB's : Matthews, Lustig, M.Wilson

    CB's : Rogne, Mulgrew, Fraser, K.Wilson, Maj/Loovens (1 punted, 1 stays)

LB's : Izzy, Blackman, Sign another one

Wingers/Attacking Mid's : Brown, Forrest, George, Commons, Ibrahim, McGeouch, McCourt

CM's : Kayal, Wanyama, Ki, Ledley, F. Twardzik, Juarez

ST's : Hooper, Stokes, Samaras, Keatings, New ST

Punt : Rasmussen, Cha, Maj/Loovens, Cervi, Murphy, O'dea, McGinn, Bangura

We've also got Mulgrew who can play LB, LM & CM, Sammy LM, Wanyama CB, Ledley LM & LB, allthe wingers can play on either side & Juarez RB.

I'm guessing when everyone says a "quality" CB, they mean one they've heard of?
We've still to see Lustig, Fojut and Blackman play. I think we're sorted in defence, to be honest...

I believe our real focus in the summer should be to make a concerted effort to bring the squad size down to around 25 so young players have a chance to progress.

I hope you're right mate because those are two of Lennon's finest signings to date.

    What's needed then....

    GK - Forster
RB - Back-up if Cha leaves.
    LB - Back-up.
CD - to play along with Mulgrew, Rogne (injury prone) and Wilson
    MF - Not needed
    CF - x 2

    To go :

Zaluska, Cha, M Wilson, Loovens, Majstorovic, Paddy, McGinn, O'Dea, Bangura. That could realise £3-4M for those not on Bosmans.

I would (controversially) listen to offers for big Sammy, even though I was one of the ones on here saying that he should get a new contract, and that at times he could be world class, when most were calling for him to be permanently dropped. His stock has gone up in the world, but he still doesn't score enough goals as a striker IMO, although I do really like the guy.

Whatever money we bring in should be used to purchase a real top class striker, as I think it is one area that could be improved with some real quality. I would like to see us buy big Fraser, and either Kello or Craig Gordon on a free, as back-up.

Other than that, everyone else stays.

signing forster should be the first priority.

defensively , we have lustig aswell as fojut coming in so the backline should have huge strength in depth.

defensively going out - majstorovic , cha , loovens.

midfield , we have inredible strength in depth . Ki , Kayal , Brown , Ledley , Wanyama in CM forrest or samaras on the right with commons , mcgeough or ibrahim on the left. ( if we have the chance to sign a class and proven left winger then we should take the opportunity but i feel ibrahim is going to be a sensation on that left wing)

    midfield going out - mccourt

attack . keep the deadly duo hooper and stokes together . sammy will play certain games and be a huge player for us again . signing a top class fourth striker will make us a magnificent team . spend the money here , we dont need five 2 million pound players for once , so lets just splash out on a top draw centre forward .

we will be an exceptional team ready for a european run no doubt about it :50:

i think this will determine if the transfer window is a success or not, more so than who we bring in. i can't remember a transfer window like it.

the squad has been growing to an unbearable size since Lennon has been in charge. he has been a magpie collecting players. by now, he must know who has something to offer and who won't get a look in and where we need to improve.

we all agree on the majority of those who need to leave and i hope Lennon tells them so. if he doesn't i hope Lawwell has a word about the size of our wages and forces Lennon to trim the bloated squad. if we wrap up the league early. time to field some to put them in the shop window.

Agree we need to get rid of the dead wood before we buy anyone else.

Think a CB is a priotity and would like to spend alot of money on one as opposed to bringing in 3-4 squad players in various postitions.

would only sign more after we got rid of the excess players. Perhaps a target man or a left winger.
