About a dozen bellends on here just a couple of weeks ago, with just myself and one or two others saying it wouldn’t matter.

Not even sorry about the big fat self-indulgent “telt ye’s” that I’m giving it the now. It’s almost completely no different from having two right-footers.

Now we have three good centre backs that can be trusted.

Fair enough. Both were excellent but for me Scales shades it over the 90 minutes.

Said it yesterday but worth mentioning again. One of the greatest individual defensive performances i have ever seen from a defender. It was a true masterclass and i never thought i would say that CCV will have to earn his spot back.

Easy tiger. I think you’ll find some were sceptical, certainly I was anyway, that it may not work playing our “usual” way. Thus far playing our normal way, it hasn’t worked. The whole setup was completely different last night. There was a lot less playing out from the back, and the team sat a lot deeper to protect the defence.

He wasn't even that bad before tonight.

Poor against Dortmund and Falkirk (A game he was thrown into with a new defence) and a ropey second half against Aberdeen, but was excellent against St Johnstone and County, terrific first half against Aberdeen and then fantastic last night.

Either way, a game like that could make him, excited to see more of him going forward.

    1 swallow doesn't make a summer.

When he looks good consistently then is when you can maybe think he was worth the outlay.

Been very critical of him up until last night. Hopefully a turning point. He was excellent.

Hard to say anything that hasn't already been said but what a performance from him. An absolute monster in the air last night. Hopefully he can really kick on from here.

A fantastic draw away in the CL where Trusty was MOTM and you manage to complain.

It's almost impressive at this point

No doubt from what i watch first 20 mins then heard and read he sounded imperious last night and deserves the plaudits but let's hope he can do it consistently now.

It's an opinion. He has had 1 good game out of how many 5 now? When he can perform consistently then that's when things can change. Am still fuming from Saturday and Aberdeen i don't let things go like that easily.

As usual we all jumped in to criticise when he has only just got here and couldn’t get in the team. It takes a run of games to get up to speed and he is getting there.

    Pleased for him and us!

It is really, the difference would be right-footed centre-backs will have played on both sides all their days.

Not many left-footed centre-backs probably ever played on the right as theres much less of them, they'd never really need to. So they won't be as natural at playing on that side, Trusty might never have played there in his whole life until now.

When you think of left-footed guys who've played for us O'Dea, McManus, Mulgrew - I actually can't think of any others but theres probably a few more, how many times did they ever play on the right, maybe not even once between them - I remember O'Dea once playing at right-back against the huns but not any of them ever playing on the right of another centre-back - it's probably the same at youth level. So to think all the hundreds of games and thousands of hours playing football but never in that area. Would be unnatural and awkward.

Excellent from Trusty last night. Immense in the air and some crucial interceptions. Hopefully that really gives his confidence a big shot in the arm. Looks like when it comes to the LCB slot we are in good shape there now.
