This is why all the new aussie posts on here aren't being taken serious. Jackson Irvine is pish, nowhere near the level required. No even close.

Hasn't ever really had anyone that's followed in from club to club, but since leaving Brisbane he's had:
Kevin Muscat (it won't be him)
    Peter Cklamovski (managing in J3)
Arthur Pappas (has options in aus)
John Hutchinson and Shaun Ontong who he is currently working with.

He has in the past worked with those already at the club and tends to bring people in gradually, really not sure how this will pan out.

As for bringing in Australians, Maty Ryan is the only option.

Mooy has the quality but he's not suited to Anges style.

Rhyan Grant would be great but i don't even think he'd want to leave Australia he's happy at a- league level. Will never push himself.

Someone said (haha) Le Fondre was in india, he's at Sydney and the bloke is too old and no up to it.

Ange senk Degenek packing when he arrived in Yokohama so not likely.

McGree played well at the end of the season but manager didn't rate him in Birmingham.

    Hrustic is settled in Germany.

It would be reckless of ange to go after any aussie other than ryan. He's the only one.

Yeah aside from Ryan, Mooy and maybe Hrustic, I dont want to see any Australian players come in as I don't think they would be able to cut it here.

Ange gave him his NT debut and picked him heaps of times for Oz.

Mooy's got a Scottish wife and young family living (I think) in Scotland and just passed on the WCQs because he hasn't seen his family in months. Massive non-football reasons for Mooy to come to Celtic as well as some pretty good football reasons if Celtic can get close enough to the stupid money he's on in China.

Fantastic player - proven EPL quality - I reckon Ange would love to have him.

If I were a betting man (and I am) and thought Ange might only bring in one Aussie, then I'd see Mooy to Glasgow as a very good bet.

To add to this. Harry Kewell, Lucas Neil, Stan Lazaridis, Mark Bosnich, Tim Cahill,

Spot on regarding players from the A-League mate. I know it’s not what a lot of Aussie’s want to hear, but the standard of players in the league is not at the level Celtic require. If we filled our team with players from the league, we would only find ourselves going even further backwards.

Possibly getting a tad long in the tooth for professional football these days.

And Bosnich is fatter than Alan Brazil.

    Good luck.

So the interview won it for him, when asked where he was born "Athens, I'm an Athenian" he was told straight away job was his. Mental.

Three Australians in the EPL at the moment? Ryan, Watts and Francois, I may have missed someone.
In comparison, there are five Swedish players in the EPL; Lindelof, Olsen, Krafth, Elanga and Mumbongo.
This doesn´t make a case for Celtic to look to Sweden for signings.

Celtic need a number of quality signings, and quick. The scale of the rebuild is massive.
The notion that Australia is where the club should be looking is way off mark in my opinion.

Adam Le Fondre is * *, sorry mate he is not what Celtic needs at all.

Brad Smith, for me is not even an upgrade on Taylor.

Ninkovic is 36 and well past it. We have Turnbull.

Ulysses Davila - another journeyman who has a terrible goal scoring record.

Hrustic - has just signed for a German side.

Bruno Fornaroli - Another journeyman who has a terrible goal scoring record.

Craig Noone is *, pointless signing.

Mitchell Duke - goal scoring record is terrible and is 30 years old.

Bar the right back who is also 30 and Dasilva the rest are honking.

My mistake with the post. I wanted to say that Australia produces good players and they get better when they play overseas in superior leagues so that their potential is realised. Aussie players have played in the English Premier League and have made a name for themselves, so I can not accept that Australian players can not make the grade in Scotland. They have made the grade in England in the past at the top level having come from Australian soccer in their earlier careers. Ange rates Aussie players very much and bemoans this inferiority complex that the local media has of them. The A League in fact craps over many overseas leagues, especially in eastern Europe and Ireland. Who would not consider the following players as not being good enough to play in Scotland in their prime .
Joe Marston, Craig Johnstone, Mark Bosnich, Tim Cahill, Mark Shwarzer, Lucas Neil, Brett Emerton, Stan Lazaridis, Tony Popovic, Harry Kewell, Robby Slater, Aaron Mooy. My apologies to the other players that do not come to mind. Also we had John Aloisi playing regularly in Spanish Liga 1, Ned Zelic playing for Borussia Dortmund, and other players playing first division football in Italy and Greece and Croatia with top teams.

For those who are in love.....
I've watched loads and loads of A league football and there isn't a single player that would improve us..

The likes of Mitch Duke. My word. The guy can't control a ball. He's atrocious..

That right back Rhyan Grant? The lack of ability is astounding..

    Adam Le Fondre. Lol..

    These guy's aren't serious :giggle1:

Mate some of the players you have mentioned are * awful.

If you don’t like that it’s been pointed out that the players or the A league is substandard then don’t * post on here. It’s that simple.

Let’s call it what it is, the A league is poor, * like Ziggy Gordon go over there and play and you are saying players like Adam Le Fondre will do a job for us :56::56::56::56:
