The idea is a straight forward bit of fun bhoys - who makes the cut for your ultimate eleven cult players past and present? If I could, I would put Cha Du Ri eleven times, but it would only be fair to give the others a chance.

    Zaluska

    Cha - - - Commper - - - Loovens - - - El Khadhourri

    Wanyama

    McCourt - - - Gravesen

    Samaras - - - Bangura - - - Slane

Subs: Rabiu Ibrahim, Rabiu Ibrahim, Rabiu Ibrahim, Rabiu Ibrahim, Rabiu Ibrahim.

Boruc is probably the best keeper in the history of the club, without doubt the best I’ve seen.

Not sure what a cult team is but he shouldn’t be involved, unless we’re talking about our greatest 11.

Cult heroes or just cult players that will be spoken about in years to come like Ambrose is what I understood from it. Players that really connected with the fan base, whether ironically like maybe Compper/Ambrose (even though he was class for a while) or unironically like Boruc and Lustig

    Just how I understood it

Scott Brown is bound to be a cult hero no?

I loved him for his fearless attitude to the huns. He didnt stop blessing himself at Ibrox even when the media was slaughtering him for it.

I thought that the Great Wall - Fraser Forster was a better keeper in general. But not as big a cult hero. Although his performance in that League Cup Final win v the huns was stuff of legend.

Hazard - Won us the quadruple treble after almost costing us it before pens.

Cha - Tie between him and McCourt for ultimate cult Celt ever?
Ambrose - Was always a bombscare but was actually pretty great for us pre- Juve, should never have been selected in fairness to him.
Annoni - Aw naw, no Annoni oan anaw noo....always remember how happy he was during our Coca Cola Cup win.
Doumbe - Playing him out of position but giving it to him for his cup final winner, his first ever goal aged 29. Signed on a permanent deal then was never seen again.

Graveson - Absolute mad man, should've been so much better than he was for us.
Ibrahim - Does he exist? Not gonna lie, struggling to think of many centre mids I'd class as cult.

Blinker - Insanely frustrating player but helped us stop the 10. Imagine swapping Di Canio for him? :56:
McCourt - Absolute genuis but never a modern footballer, born in the wrong era.
Petta - For someone who ultimataly provided so little his performances against Rangers in the 6-2 game and Ajax away were incredible. Turned the game in Turin before we were cheated and was also supreb in 4-3 win over them at Parkhead.

Brattback - Scored THAT goal. Similar to Pukki, obvious talent but just never worked here.

Honourable mention to Johnny Gould, sneaked up the touchline long after a game whilst waiting inside the stadium for my maw to finish work in the kiosk. Saw him in the dugout and asked for his goalie tap without realising he didn't have it on, promptly dropped his kegs and gave me his shorts instead. :56:

Aw and Braafheid as well, how is possible to look so bad in the SPL but come on in a World Cup final just a couple of months later? Mental.

    Sanchez Broto
Perrier Doumbe - Ambrose - Compper - Laursen
    Mizuno - Gravesen - Donati - McCourt
    Samaras - C.Cole
I remain adamant that Sanchez Broto was the best keeper at the club when he was with us! And JJPD l always thought was decent for us, I remember him playing well against AC Milan in Glasgow, and he won us the cup:100: Big Efe was madder than a box of frogs, and I always had a soft spot for Ulrik Laursen, couldn't tell you why. Compper might show us what he's made of in the next Legends match:84:

Midfield is an absolute car crash, wouldn't have it any other way either. Mizuno scored a belter against Falkirk, had the full stand singing his name and then evaporated at Ibrox a week or two later.

Samaras is probably the definition of a cult hero though!

Just to throw a few different names in there

    Hedman
    Telfer. Wilson. Vega. Camara
    Nguemo. Sno. Jarosik
    Sylla. Dublin. Mcginn.

A few other mentions... weighorst. Darren Jackson. Both did well. Both out with life threatening illnesses. And Both came back to the first team after their illnesses

Annoni is the first name that springs to mind when I seen the thread title. Loved him and don't really know why

Boruc was a cult hero, undoubtedly. That's not to take away from his ability as a player, but personality was what lead to that cult status in his case.

Oh, and for reference, the greatest ever 'in the history of the club', I refer you to Charlie Shaw. The stats don't lie and it's not even close. yw.

Even in modern times, I'd still be tempted to go with Forster, but it would be a good debate between Boruc & Forster, which of those 2 was the better #keeper.
