The chat coming out of the holy ground today was not only the two great goals - but the defensive performance by Laursen. I think, and this was echoed by many others, that the big fella had a great game. Comfortable on the ball, never drifted out of position. He may not be a world beater, but to have someone naturally left sided playing at left back seems sensible. You could see even the way he turned to collect or chase back seemed natural to him - no harm to Joos, but he never looked comfortable here. Andy Walker on Radio Clyde seems to be the only person to not agree with this so far - but what does Wee Andy know about defending? What do the rest of the faithful think?

    * man he is looks after the left better than joos can, only time i seeing him playing * was when he was playing centre half, he got up and down the park well today, dunno were he was for prickesns goal as the cross came in from the left and mcgeady was chasing down what ever chunt put in the cross.

But all in all thumbs up.

Yes, I listened the game on BBC Radio Scotland and it sounded like with the big man had a cracking game. When the Huns had that spell of pressure in the second half big Ulrik seemed to be there to snuff out any danger. But there again I thought the run of successive corners the Huns had was more down to us wanting some practice in defending corners! LOL.

I thought he had a great game yesterday and hope he gets and extended run in the side now. I think he will get better with games. We missed Lennon in the middle though. Rickson wouldn't have got the space to score if he'd been playing. What do Hartson & Sutton have to do to get a free kick???

best of all, just when you thought he couldn't get any uglier, rae loses his teeth ;-)

I wouldn't go overboard lhads. When the Huns had chances, which they rarely did, he was playing everybody on side. Just saw the footage again on Celtic TV.

And where was he when Hutton swung in that cross? Surely a left-back should be covering there instead of McGeady?

He looked okay but the whole backed line looked shaky to me - the marking was non existent throughout (thank * the huns are absolute pish).

    I agree with lard.

Laursen continually played huns onside, sometimes 3 at once, in set pieces and edge of the area play. I think he isnt good enough for Celtic. Definetly not the answer.

  9. i still think he's been playin well, though!

Lard & Hail Hail im with yous on this one, he might have done alrite when we had the ball but looked kinda suspect wen the huns had it and for the huns goal where was he. mcgeadys not the left back so he should not be chasin hutton back.

Hes only had a run of 3 games, the amount of praise hes getting, he'll end up heavin a howler against the dons or get injured

  11. i hope not!

    I disagree lads,
Hutton was the full back so it is McGeady's job to mark him when he comes forward,
Generally Laursen has to keep an eye on the Rangers right winger/midfielder.

He is doing well at the minute and the side looks far more balanced with a natural left footer there. He may not be the answer but is the best we've got for that position at the minute. With an extended run of games he could get much better.

Just to go back to my original point - I never once stated that I was of the opinion that Laursen was the answer - I simply commented that people all arond celtic park were talking about the good game that he had on Sunday. Remember this post was put up before the benefit of watching the game on TV and having to listen to * pundits carving up anything half decent that Celtic might do. Laursen may not be the answer but MON can only play the players at his disposal. If he is all we've got then I hope he gets the chance to improve.

thought bobo was the worse player we had on the day, all this season he has given the ball away again and again, dunno if his mind is elsewhere or not.

but he did make nove look like a * twice.

    Agree totally Dubs.

By the end of the match I was shouting at the tele that he was a f*cking liability every time he went near the ball. He looked totally disinterested and I reckon that proves again he's off!

At one point he turned novo inside out just on the right hand side of our box then proceeds to make a james hunt of himself as he tried to clear with his left foot. Bobo has trouble on his right most of the time so why he even bothers with his left is a mystery. Come on big fella get it together!!!
