    December 31st for this?

Finally going to get myself into watching UFC.

The main event for this one is Lesnar v Overeem right?

Who's the favourite for this one? Looks like the two of them are brawlers aye?

    You wont regret it.
I have never seen Overeem fight, but he has been around a long time.Lesnar is a huge brute but doesnt have all the skills imo.

This will be overeem's debut to the UFC. Don't know how he will go against lesnar but it will probably be a striking match the way through so you will enjoy it mate. I think a lot of people who want to get into it seem to be put off with a lot of fights on the floor, but you will soon appreciate it when you learn how hard it is to take control like that when watching more events. I prefer fights that go toe to toe with each other and this will hopefully one of those fights

    * so it is. I'll probably record it and watch it when I'm in a semi-coma from alcohol poisoning.

If you watch on ESPN they repeat the whole show the following night usually.......for anyone with no recording facility.

I think it will be interesting but not likely to last long as both have one punch knock out potential. I get the feeling the longer they stay on their feet the better Overeem will look. If Lesner can get position on the ground he will dominate him. I think the Lesner of old would wipe the floor with Overeem but he has been out for a long time and it is just guess work as regards how he will look.

The last couple of UFC events have been brilliant so I hope this lives up to the expectation

I have to say i have a bit of a feeling that Lesnar was/is overrated. He is a huge man and that for me is the only reason he beat Randy Couture. He should have lost to Carwin and got rag dolled by Cain. His only good win for me was against Mir.....when his weight definitely told.I dont think he'd go a minute with JDS.

Having said all that, i dont like believing rumours too much, but Overeem is widely thought to have bulked up "quicker than normal"......so i havent made my mind up on him regarding giving him any support.

I agree, but if you remember the frank Mir fight, lesnar panicked when he had him in the floor and just started hitting him with insane wreck less punches. I think he didnt want to give mir a chance to get a submission again so just went mental with the punches. I don't think he is the cleverest fighter, just a big brawler that's good at throwing his weight around when it matters, sometimes it pays of for him.

Espn usually mate, but if your interested in it as a sport and not just UFC, they show some less popular events on extreme sports channel such as cage wars. UFC is more the premier division for fighters. Also watch the ultimate fighter on fx, half the guys in the undercards for the UFC go through these shows so you get to know abit more about the fighters

Lesnar is a bully, if he gets on top and gets his opponent on the ground he is ruthless. But both Shane Carwin and Cain Velasquez both showed that his bottle starts to go if he has to stand up and take a few shots. Overeem is a very well rounded Heavyweight who has been in MMA for a long time. The last few years he has cemented a strong reputation and this could be the entry into the UFC that will catapult him to the big time.

I dont particularly like Lesnar, he brought a sense of WWF Wrestling to the sport and it doesnt sit well.

If Overeem keeps mobile and keeps his distance he will knock the heart out of Lesnar. If Lesnar takes it to the ground, he will be favourite.

Lesnar is my favourite fighter by a distance, absolutely love him.

He is a freak of nature; supremely athletic, strong and has limitless potential. His achilles heel is, however, he doesn't like being hit. A lot of people slate his striking but that's a false issue really because he punches and he punches * hard, ask Heath Herring and his orbital bone. He even finished Couture with rabbit punches with about 3 inches backlift.

I would love Lesnar to go and polish his boxing with a quality coach but as he hasn't Overeem comes in as the massive favourite. The best kickboxer heavyweight MMA has seen.

lesnar is massive and he's pretty quick but thats pretty much all he has. good takedowns and g 'n' p. very little technical ability and hugely favoured by Joe Silva when he's matching bouts.

jopew overeem kicks his puss in

It's on Friday December 30th but main card starts around 2am December 31's here so it'll be the morning of New Years Eve.

There has been some controversy about a random drug test with Overeem and he'll have to undergo another test on the night before the fight but hopefully that won't effect the match in any way. It was rumoured Mir on standby in case the initial results came back positive but hopefully it doesn't come to that.
