  1. I would be happy with it provided that he isn't the only guy brought in on the back of the CL qualifications.

He could be our Sammy in europe, someone who would offer a different option compared to King Thumb and Dembele.

I got told weeks ago when Atletico and Valencia were in for him that we were still in pole position to sign him not heard anything since.

Mental what a goal can do

    Nope.

If its to play him as a winger, absolutely no need for him.
If its to play him as a striker, then he isn't good enough.

Bar that good goal in the euros, do we really think he has it? Because Daryl Murphy is a shout for one wonder goal he done a few years back.

No club has snapped him up since the euros either which also means he has * all of a preseason and no one even in the lower ends of epl or the championship deems he that good. Or they would have him tied down by now.

He has had plenty of offers, in fairness.

Quick google there and he is waiting until after the deadline to make a decision. Worked with Rodgers at Reading.

He is a work horse type who will give his all but he doesn't necessarily have a lot of technical ability. I'd rather him as an option on the wing than GMS, mind. He is powerful and provides a bit of a 'Samaras type' outball.

I'd be looking at two CM's, ST and RB before even thinking of him, though.

  5. Was thinking about this the other day as we were linked before and he's still free..

I reckon due to our assistant, we'll go for this..

No a bad choice, on the wing and up top, all side's.... Doesn't have to be first choice for any..

He'd deffo do a job here. Would leave fee's for a big central mid signing and right back..

:smiley-laughing002: Does he ever actually come out and say anything straight? Always cryptic hints, wouldn't like to be stuck behind the * at McDonald's drive through, woukd take hours for them to decipher what the * he actually wanted .

He blocked me on Twitter the other day because I asked if his source was the same one who said Joe Allen was a done deal:smiley-laughing002:

There is alot of good free agents out there and Robson Kanu is not one of them.

I do see him being signed though

Balo would be interesting...but also unlikely. Think he win the fans hearts but ultimately fade away before returning to Liverpool. I would take a punt on s loan deal just to see what he can do up here.

Would take markovic on loan too and punt GMS. That would give us Sinclair, markovic, Roberts and Forrest to fight for starting positions on the wings. All fast and would tear everyone apart up here.

Would love to see Ledley back. Also McCarthy on loan but really doubt that one. Both would be epic but like Balo...unlikely.

Carlos zambrano as a CB. Rodgers looked at him a few times at Liverpool but wasn't willing to leave one of the times. Plays for a smaller sized German team, who nearly got relegated last season

Rodgers hates Balotelli and he is the anti-christ when it comes to his style and philosophy.

Folk should just forget that right now.

Anyway, came in to say that I'd seriously look at Martin Caceres.

    He can play RB.

  16. As regards RB.
I would seriously look at Calum Paterson.
Think we would get him for £1.2M.

I wouldn't mind him either , only 21 but lots of experience already, not much of a gamble , think he's a decent player who will only get better

I personally like Callum Paterson, and appreciate what he brings, but I do not think we should sign him for 2 reasons.

1- He's very raw talent wise and is essentially a brick shithouse whose growing his attributes as a full back. We need an immediate upgrade at that position, and considering we already have a raw product in Janko there, not the smartest move to get another one in unproven at a higher level.

2- I can't help but think he'll end up into another doomed Scottish buy. I'm not saying we should never buy from the Scottish market again but I think if we do, we need to already have a solid foundation in of Rodgers style, quality buys from teams/leagues of Celtic, not SPL quality. I want to trump our domestic rivals rather than buy off all their talent. Not good for the league and more importantly, players like Armstrong, Ciftci, GMS, and to a certain extent Allan have shown that they struggle with the demands of Celtic. If we buy from Scotland, the player needs to be something real special for us to jump at. Personally, the only player in Scotland I'd really splash out on right now is Jason Cummings and even he'd still be a prospect in my mind.

If we want to compete decently in Europe this year and go for a treble in Scotland, we need better than Paterson in my view.
