Aye he does do that, but we were still better. Iwata and Bernardo are still better options than McGregor. Midfield has not clicked this year at all.

He's fine and there was much better balance when he came on. Hoping McGregor has a blinder next week cause we look very unbalanced.

Thought we looked better organised when both subs came on.

I agree but if he’s not I think I would be happy with Iwata. From memory he’s always been comfortable against them, hasn’t he?

He might be the answer for the rest of the season, going forward absolutely not, not even close to cutting it here.

Just noticed in the replay he turned his back when the Dundee lad pulled the trigger for the goal..

Again, just don’t get what he’s meant to be good at.

A defensive midfielder that isn’t very good at defending is what I see.

Would have bernardo ahead of him tbh. Think bernardo just hold onto the ball better and better going forward also. Right now both bernardo and iwata ahead of Mcgregor

Least of worries in the remainder of our games. Not always on it, but gives a far better balance to the MF 3, and clearly has more energy than O'Riley and fitness than Cal the now.

But can be improved on in the summer.

Our midfield gained composure and assuredness when he came on. To that point we were starting to get overran and he 100% steadied the ship.

Was excellent when he came on, that * pass to no one excluded. Brings much better balance to the team.

He was the major difference at a critical point today. Can feel harshly treated that heMs been benched for a player who’s nowhere near fit, regardless of how important McGregor is when fit.

But what a difference right now being able to look at our bench and have a myriad of different options that you trust to come on and make a difference. Seeing him and Idah coming on at that point was players I think can make a difference and most importantly guys that can change our full style, without changing formation.

He has to start every game, simple as that. Just rotate McGregor in with O’Reilly & Hatate as none of the 3 are near their best just now.

Did well when he came on, problem is he's not goanny be consistent with it if he starts every game. Think the best we can hope for is utilising him and McGregor as and when required and hope it's good enough in any given game. Absolutely not at the level you can guarantee he'll be solid every game.

Canna get a game ahead of a massively unfit Callum McGregor and a wildly out of form Oriley.

If Rodgers is still here next year he'd be aswell asking for a move bcoz unless ur one of Rodgers favourites it doesn't matter how you perform.

Same goes for Scales, he's a favourite so he's untouchable even after that * horror of a performance last week

I don't think they are necessarily favourites. I think it's more has players he players he simply doesn't want to play and he's left with the likes of scales as the best of a bad bunch in his eyes.. if Rodgers got what we wanted from the board scales wouldnt be starting games..

Mcgregor and oriley are 100% favourites. They will play every week regardless of form. They don't even need to be fit anymore.

I normally really like tidy players like him and expected to like him; but IMHO he's not an intelligent player* and I don't like to see him in the team. I dislike him more than I dislike Palma, as I think Palma's problem is attitude rather than ability or intelligence. I could imagine him winning me over if he gets his head down and works hard.

I can't imagine Iwata winning me over because I can't think of any examples of players his age who have become far more intelligent (younger players, yes; which is why I have hope for Yang). He's in his prime, he's not going to change. As an example of what I mean, look how much Bernardo scans compared to Iwata. Christ, I remember sometimes watching Broony in big games and he scanned constantly. I remember some European teams on the break against us where you could see some of our players tracking back and Broony's head would be spinning more than once a second.

    * In a football sense, I mean. I'm sure he's a very smart guy in general.

The best our midfield has looked in months was that 1st half at Ibrox. Iwata, Hatate and oriley (mainly bcoz there's no * else) should be starting midfield 3 until end of the season

Yep. 100% made us better. I felt like the middle of the park was being overran as McGregor isn't fit. He's definitely carrying an injury.

Iwata has to start against Hearts.
