    Was always going to be second string compared to the guys ahead of him but he actually had a decent record

    18 League Goals in 35 League Games is not too bad! Spread over 4 years right enough.

    Martin O'Neill's version of Paddy McCourt for me, absolute fan favourite, everyone loved him, ultimate squad player.

    Scored the goal to seal the league title treble season as well!

    The one that always cracks my up with Johnson was when we won the league in O'Neill's first season v St. Mirren - when he scored the winner against Ludovic Roy, when the players where getting interviewed on the park and that, Johnson jumped on someone's back when he was getting interviewed and said in this squeeky, cheesy wee Geordie accent "Whay aye man.........we've won the leeeeeeaaaggggguuuuueeeee!!!!!!!!!!"

    I actually remember that! He sounded like a caricature! Could tell the players loved him but. Shame that he was injured constantly because he was a good * player!

    Overall he scored 25 goals in 51 games even though he only started 30 of those games and a lot of his games were him returning from injuries or between injuries when he wasnt even fit.

    Nice guy but a massive waste of money by our standards, dunno * Tommy Burns was thinking except perhaps * off Fergus before he left.

    350 games 127 goals.

    All in over his career, that is really not bad (wiki stats so me be *)

    Considering he winded down his career after us and played for 7 different clubs retiring in 2007 at the age of 38 that's really not bad.

    He had scored 24 goals in 77 Premier League games for Notts County and Aston Villa before we signed him, quite a good record, especially as Notts County were relegated.

    We sent him on loan to Everton in 1999 and then he came back and eventually went to Chesterfield, then a 10 game spell at Kilmarnock where he scored 7 goals.
