altough celtic are out of europe and got off to a diasterous spl, in my opinion theres so much prospect and talent. i was so impressed by the development of shaun maloney, craig beatie and mcgeady. new signings like naka, boruc and even magic who's improving. the team needs to be given time and has to be played with the right players. that means no mo camara, no paul telfer, no david marshall and unfortunetly i dont think lennon should played eithier, he is to slow to old and is never in the game.
but of course if we have GS still playin these players espeically that * muppet mo camara, well things wont change.

i love neil lennon as a player both on and off the pitch, he is the roy keane of celtic. but his days are numbered now. i would like to see naka and mcgeada play there now for the good of the club.

I totally disagree with both of you. Lennon's contribution to games often goes unoticed by alot of people but (with the except of the past 2 or 3 games) he always puts in a solid shift.

I agree that the young players need to be included more often in the side but throwing them in the 1st team every game is going to burn them out and induce injury's. I think GS has it spot on with how he is handling the young players like beattie and Maloney.

I also think the majority of people on this forum are being far too hard on Camara and Tefler. Christ, they've only played 3 games and I thought Camara was much improved tonight and Tefler was impressive.

That's the problem with a certain element of the Celtic "Support" - pessimistic glory hunters. When the team is playing * or in the case of last week - atrocious..they are calling for the manager to be sacked and labelling players mince.

The true Celtic fans, of course, are the ones who support the bhoys no matter what the situation might be (including the manager) and offer CONSTRUCTIVE critisism.

    Paul.

Remember bhoys, in the past few years the team who have got off to the same SPL start as us have went on to win the league. But for us to do that we need Sutty, Agathe, Virgo and Nakamura in and playing well.

There is no room for Camara anywhere at CP and Boruc must stay in goals.

pas....cast your mind back to when Hartson was signed by Martin O'Neil - he was labelled as a fat useless c*nt and even failed a medical at hun land. Look at him now. GS wouldn't have signed Camara if he didn't see potential there - remember this is the same player MO "had his eye" on too.

I worry about us not having a big enough squad. There is no cover for Lennon, and although Camara is still not looking that great, he's the only left sided defender at the club. Telfer has done nothing wrong so far, and IMO will be a valueable squad member, remember Virgo was signed to play right back. If Telfer continues to turn in decent displays, Virgo will challenge for a centre half position. Would like to see 2-3 more players signed, 2 defenders and a defensive midfielder.

i have to disagee wit jxer. im a die heart celtic fan and im no glory hunter. i think we are playin well, only we have muppets like camara who gives away stupid goals. not so much paul telfer but i strongly believe we would be playing partizan next week if wasn't for him. every match he plays in he looks like he is going to have a panic attack. and the only reason he didn't play to bad tonight was becoz he had * all to defend!!!!!

Hartson had a belter tonight.. i always have mixed reviews about him but i am putting my foot down from now on. The fat basterd sweat green and white tonight. He is putting in the effort and scoring some good goals, chasing the ball everywhere he was! just what i want to see from the big lad! Get in there Jon

Brother Walfrid - My glory hunter comment wasn't directly at you personally. I think we all know the people on here I am talking about.

regicfc - That wasn't my point. I was merely saying that two managers thought he was worth signing so it has to count for something. I agree that so far, Camara hasn't showed himself to be much of a player but we must give him time. If he hasn't improved in the next few games then we can all start calling for him to be removed.

As for Balde and Varga - I think both these players should be axed. I've not been impressed with either of them for months - Balde especially. I think we should of FORCED him out the door to whatever german team he was interested in when we had the chance. Instead we offer the guy a new contract!! This is the guy that couldn't defend to save himself!

Don't know Pas, maybe Agathe can go back to his right wing position and give us another option. Agathe did great at right back, but he is great going forward as well, don't forget Virgo was originally signed to play right back, so maybe Strachan has a more attack minded role for Agathe.
Time will tell, but I don't think Telfer has done anything wrong so far, he has been signed as a squad player, but the way the defense have been playing there are places up for grabs. If Bobo can keep the head, who knows?

I think Telfer would be the player who would replace Lennon if hurt or rested. with Virgo soon to be fit and with Du Wei probably coming to CP, we should have the resources at the back to allow for this. I was quite impressed by the balde-mcmanus partnership, there was and understanding between the two and the communication was evident. camara was still the weak link though. despite the disappointin result last night, we showed parts to our game that have been missing both in pre-season and i our previous two encounters. we showed a fighting spirit(thommo in particular) the return of form of Stan, a solid enough looking defence, and the ability to look potent up front without commiting too many men. I just wish aliadiere took a shot instead of passin to maloney right at the death...

We were outplayed over two legs by a team whose annual budget is 900k and who can't even afford fresh shirts! Of course players like Camara, Telfer and Hartson would look good against that lot, they couldn't look any worse!

I'm still totally perplexed as to why the likes of Laursen, Henchoz and Valgaeren were allowed to leave if no adequate replacement was secured. And the jury's still out on the young players until they've had a season or two of regular football. Very, very cautious optimism is the order of the morning for me...

    Well said lard44.

That siad, even against Artmedia Telfer and especially camara, still looked out of their depth.

Telfer I dont think managed to stop about hardly any of the crossed balls from his side. What is he there for? Chasing shadows?

Camara is a bad joke, gone worse. He is SO bad, he would not get a place in a Hearts or Aberdeen squad. I mean that as well..
