There are hoards and hoards of foreigners lands on Irish shores these days and as you say 5-10 years ago if you saw a foreigner it was a weird site.

But to be honest Ireland has a big history of the migration of its people to other countries. We would be hypocritical to complain.

I am a bit uncomfortable with it but thats because I'm not used to it but belfast and Northern Ireland is booming at the moment which will attract more and more foreigners.

They come mostly for jobs and housing. In Belfast you would mostly see Forenigers working in Fast Food Outlets, Hospitals etc. But i don't have a problem with it there's a good few Philipinoes in my school and i get along with them.

I suppose there's going to have to be a stop to it espically if they are putting our own people out of jobs etc.

Not every foreign person you seen will live here, especially in the city centre, Glasgow is a major tourist destination now so a lot of these foreigners will be here on holiday not permanently living here.

They come to work, not to sponge. More often than not its to do the jobs that we turn our noses up at. The biggest spongers in Ireland/Scotland are not the hard working immigrant, its the bone idle social claiming natives, around 25% in Glasgow I believe

I do agree that there should be a cap as we could easily lose our culture very quickly in certain areas of the island. That should never be allowed to happen.

Hi not to get all political and complicated but the 25% is bull. Glasgow is obvisly by far the largest city in Scotland but its only the 4th largest on terms on land.

Glasgow's boundry is so small that the most afliant areas are conciders not actualy part of the city.:50:

Funnily enough mate, I was thinking the exact same thing last week. The sheer amount of foreigners here is unbelievable, and the majority of them are Polish.

You might know the place, you know the houses next to the Brass Monkey, opposite Sandys Street? I think every single one of them is owned or rented out by foreigners and one has Portuguese flag sticking out his window.

It might take a while to get used to seeing all these foreigners invade the place:84:

I don't think anyone has said they don't want the foreigners here. I have not heard one person say they hate anyone. It's just unusual as only a few years ago we never had any! So shame on no one! It would be different if we were protesting to get them out which is not what we are doing. Things are a changing and we are just discussing things - there is no shame in that!

I can indeed. Oh how times have changed! I've got nothing against them moving here and the rest, but it will certainly take a while to get used to it.

That's crazy! Did you and your mate just invite yourselves along then aye?:84:

And I'm not too sure why my sig has 3 stars Conor, Suzwar mate it for me.

there is too many of them here wether there here illeagilly or not,

Its time we shut the borders.

Since all the other crappy wee countrys joined into europe scotland and ireland are the only ones letting them all * in for free.

while the real european countrys like germany france and the likes whos * idea it was to invite these countrys into europe are have shut there borders and deal with illeagels.

i dont see why these folk can all just pack up and leave their own country and move here for free when i am struggling with a family to get by with us 2 with jobs and shes at uni and recieves no fkin help from the government. but we want to emigrate to australlia but at the moment we dont have enough points but hope to have in a few years.
    so we struggle .
the governments taxes for companys are sky high so all the companys here move to the crappy countrys so our skilled jobs are dissapearing and when they are all gone all the johhny forigners will leave and the uk countrys will be DEAD.
WE ARE HEADING TOWARDS BEING THE 3RD WORLD COUNTRY AND DONT EXPECT ANY HELP FROM ANYONE .

and our nhs in scotland well i could go on.

They say we dont have enough skilled people in uk so they bring in and give good jobs to these forigners.
Well government it is ur own fault its not fkin hard to train people up through school so when they leave they have somethin u fkin need.
why teach people history(most of the time its ebglish history anyway and not our own) spend time teaching things that is going to help us all in the futre.
why do all these forigners hang about the streets day and night doing fk all and eventually create Ghettos.
THE COUNTRY WAS ALOT SAFER TOO B4 THEY ALL STARTED COMEING HERE.
WITH WORK I HAVE DEALT WITH THEM IN THE PAST TOO THEY WANT TO DO DODGEY DEALS AND DONT WANT TO PAY U THERE JUST USED TO DOING THINGS THERE OWN WAY WHICH HAS RUINED OUR OWN WAY OF LIFE.

I DONT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE MOVEING TO OTHER COUNTRYS THATS JUST LIFE WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO WHERE EVER WE WANT BUT THE WAY THE HORDES ARE COMEING AND HAVE CAME HERE IS JUST WAY OUT OF ORDER AND I THINK IT IS NEARING THE END OF OUR COUNTRYS.
THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO NOW OUR COUNTRY WAS AND STILL IS SOFT SO GET LOST.

  19. Well, I am not a racist, but there are alot of Asians who live around my area and intolerance can be a problem.

I would get on with these people just like I would with anyone else and don't really understand some people's strong views.

I find places like Scotland to be very different on the matter, they don't all seem so bothered. The Asians in Scotland are usually a good laugh aswell, the ones I have met don't care what they are called and they usually laugh about it anyway. Where as to call these people sorry to use the words 'p*kis' or 'c**nkies' down here would be a problem.

I don't know the full history but really Bradford and Leeds has many Asian and African immigrants, not that I have a problem with this.

Well said ASF! I too am struggling to get by with a young family of 3. We still live in a high flat, 5 of us in a 2 bed, and there are people from * knows where who swan in to OUR country and OUR government gives them priority over us. Why? * me off 2. Also Sighthill and Red Road in Glasgow is getting knocked down! New houses for all the immigrants, back and front doors. Must be nice to swan into another country and get the lot given on a plate. In fact I think I'll try that in Spain!
