    Where is it?

Brendan's been quoted saying he has one more player to bring in, but what role do we think he will fill?

I'll just start by saying BR's transfers thus far have been exemplary - very reasonable spend, but loads of quality in return. Respect.

But turning our attention back to the as yet unsatisfied position/role I'm keen to hear folks thoughts on what we need. And I'm not talking about replacements for potentially outgoing players - we're talking about first team material here.

We seem set with a new GK coming in, and at the back we look vastly improved with arguably out best player there still to return to fitness.

Up front Giffiths has picked up where he left off, dare I say it even improved from last season. Dembele is slowly finding his feet and has obvious talent. Not sure if another first team ready player would benefit us at this end of the park, especially when Ciftci is working hard and always seems useful when making an appearance.

Out wide, wow, Sinclair is superb, Roberts is a little genius, and Forrest looks reborn. Happy here.

To me that leaves the centre of the park. 3 positions. Between Brown, Bitton, Rogic and maybe McGregor (needs to up his game though) we have a balance of box to box energy, deep lying creativity, craft and vision. The only thing I feel we lack is true power. A big powerful guy who can get about the park to close things down but also drive forward with the attack.

If it was me, thats what I'd be after.

    What's everyone else's thought?

Central midfield. We're obviously really weak in the midfield minus Brown, think our defence looks worse because of it. Dying for a Wanyama type would take Gerrard though.

We need a midfielder. Brown, Bitton and Rogic all on form are very good. But we need another player for the middle. Someone of similar quality to Toure and Sinclair.

A defensive midfielder who will stop players getting free shots around the edge of our box, such as the 2nd goal we conceded on Wednesday. Someone quick, not shy of a tackle, with good positional skills. Being comfortable in possession and having a decent range of passing would be nice as well. Don't necessarily think it has to be a big sturdy guy like Wanyama, but if he has the attributes and is as strong as him that would a bonus.

It will be someone with that extra quality and experience to sit in next to Brown.

A CDM who can drop into a back three in possession allowing tierney free to bomb forward thus allowing us to play a genuine 3 4 3 with all of our best players on the pitch.

I thought he talked about another 2 the last he mentioned it ,before he signed the gk I thought he talked about getting 4 in ideally .a defensive midfielder and a right back another striker wouldn't go a miss either

Agree a really decent attacking right back would be handy.

Agree. Lustig looks like he's on his last legs and not convinced at all by janko.

He might fancy another striker. Dembele, Griff and Cifcti are our 3 senior attackers. We are loaded with midfielders and defenders now. Unless he sells/ loans out a couple of midfielders (we have 14 at the moment!!) Im not sure thats the area we will bring someone in.

No * knows. Apart fae Paul the Tim. Or maybe that Uncle Ho dude.

Midfielder, then I think we need to turn our attention to a right back. I dont think Janko is the answer.

I think Lustig,Janko and Ralston are totally fine at RB but a quality CM\DM that can come and put in his stamp directly is a must.

CDM. Bitton's the only other natural we have in that position and he's nowhere near good enough. We still don't really know what Brendan's preferred style/formation will be though, so it's tough to see.

Midfielder and attacking right back, that would conclude one of the best transfer windows we've had in the last twenty years.

Hopefully an all-action CM that can think forward and wants to go forward.

    Playmaker for me.

Though I'd like a deeper midfielder as well.

If we signed a midfielder equivalent to Kolo/Sinclair, then - for the first time since Strachan was here - I'd be expecting us to make the CL last 16 (assuming that everyone stays fit, that we finish off Hapoel, and that we don't get an absolute nightmare of a group :50:).

A unit of a defensive midfielder.

We have never replaced Wanyama and a player like him is critical in Europe. He did more than just defend but shielding the defence and calmness on the ball under pressure in our half was critical to our successes under Neil Lennon. He was/is a special talent but a player like him is exactly what we're missing at the moment. It'd also take some of the pressure off of Brown, who does a lot of running but who's prone to injuries as a result.
