    Edinburgh and Glasgow's awful attendances.

True, club rugby is in a bit of a state. But that's down to a combination of this countries obsession with football, the elitist attitude that still exists in some rugby clubs and the * poor organisation within the game.

But the national team still attracts plenty of support.

The support of the national team is way down on what it used to be. Ireland and Wales fans always outnumber the Scottish fans at Murrayfield in the Six Nations, while Murrayfield struggles to fill up for the November tests.

Heck, there plenty of empty seats when Scotland played New Zealand in the last World Cup at Murrayfield.

Do you follow Glasgow, by the way?

Successful teams will always put more bums on seats. (And cheaper ticket prices would help as well) Unfortunately we're caught in a vicious circle thanks to our poor form at club level.

    No.

I went to Murrayfield to watch Lenzie win the cup about 3 years ago and the stadium was half full......for a couple of local teams no one would have ever heard about.

Scottish rugby will come good again.

I'm not from Glasgow for a start. I pay over 450 quid for my Celtic season ticket, so I'm sure the missus' would be over the moon at the prospect of me travelling into town on a Friday night to watch rugby as well.

I played rugby at schools level and still take an interest in the sport, but work and Celtic get in the way of it.

If the Scotland national team want to attrack better attedances then move to Glasgow. More than 50% of the entire Scottish population live in Greater Glasgow, so why "base" the national team miles away from the population?

    Fair enough, Doc.

If you want entertainment, watch Leinster on the box!

Yep, I must admit I enjoy watching the Irish teams in the Heineken Cup. We could definitely learn a lot from the Irish game.

Andy, as Glasgow's attendances have shown, there's never been a huge love of rugby in Glasgow - mainly down to the football.

Can't beat the atmosphere Leinster create at Lansdowne Road or Munster at Thomond Park.

When was the last time the Scottish national rugby team played a meaningful game in Glasgow?

I know a loads of people who play and follow rugby.

Average attendances of less than 2,000 speak for themselves.

    Edinburgh's are a bit better.

Make Glasgow the home of proper international matches and you will fix the problem of attendances over night :50:
