IMO we should now dump all the loan players we are not keeping next season and try out a few things like new formations, fringe players etc. FFS at least play Rass, Ki, McCourt, McGinn and any of the comeback trail players for the last 3. I worry Lenny will keep playing this team for selfish reasons so he can keep his personal record good.

Win the remaining fixtures - especially the Rangers game - then start rebuilding for next season.

New formations, fringe players ect.....thats what friendlies are for.

    This :50:

If we win the last few games we will have won 8 in a row and beaten Rangers. That will give the team plenty of confidence they can win it back next year.

Then he can experiment in the summer.

I would imagine we won't see Braafheid in the hoops again, but Kamara did well again today and there's no way he'll drop Keane.

I reckon once the old firm game is over he will try some of the things you mention, but he won't want to break the momentum before then.

I would certainly like to see the 4 boys you mention given a chance.

have u seen a handsome hun
in scotland......coming second, is coming last. and we've just come last in a two horse race.
the whole club needs to take a serious look at itself, from the fans in the stand to the playing staff, to the coaching and to the suits in the boardroom......its not been good enough in every quarter.

The uncertainy of if Lennon will be Manager or not next season means he will play what he thinks is the best and safest 11 to get results in the last few games.
I hope to * we win every game we have left how ever we do it.

a number of posts confirm my fear that lenny will treat the last 3 games as part of a personal bid for the job. Results should not matter now. We should be focussed on next season. One solution is if the board announce who is next seasons gaffer this week.

Would you not agree though that he should keep the team consistent until after the old firm game?

You can't start experimenting in that game surely?

How unprofessional would it be for celtic to send back the loan players?? Oh we never won the league bye then, if it werent for Keane we may not have guarenteed 2nd place, sending him back to spurs would be an insult to the guy. Players that played today are the team to finish the league for us, hopefully on an 8 game winner, Pre-season, friendlies that's when you can swap players or try new formations.

    Hail Hail

I'd play the best 11 available to us in every game from now 'til the end of the season. If you are suggesting we bin Robbie Keane, a goal a game striker who has been an absolute breath of fresh air in every sense, just because he is on loan I find that a bit silly.

We've seen enough of the 4 players you'd like to see to know exactly what they're all about; McGinn and McCourt will never be anything more than impact subs, Ki will never make it unless he gets street wise and Ras will score 20+ a season from inside the 6 yard box if he plays regularly.

How does Ki get streetwise, sitting on the bench?

Playing loanees when we've achieved the best we can is a bit silly, not the other way around. We have to look at what we've got, I imagine Rangers will be doing the same - they've been playing without Bougherra Boyd for sometime now, as they know they're offski next season.

I'd like to give more games to Zaluska, Caddis, any of the perma-injured CB's when fit, McCourt, McGinn, McGowan, Rasmussen, Crosas, Ki Sung - not too sure of Zheng Zhi's contract status, he might be on a 1 year - so I wouldn't bother with him.

Loanees starve these 1st team Celtic players of essential playing time & have done nothing except maybe help us achieve 2nd, which some people think is equivilant to last place in a 2 horse race.

None of the loanees should stay, Kamara looks the best option, but he's even too much money in wages - with no real re-sale value. N'Guemo is a prospect, but we've already got Brown & McGeady who we can't improve in 3 years, so that's a no-goer too...IMO.

Edit: Sorry, we can't really say McGinn & McCourt will never be more than impact subs, unless we give them a chance to get used to playing regularly. It's poor motivation for next season, if the Celtic players see loanees playing in front of them with nothing to play for, knowing that they won't even be here next season.

Play our strongest team, there is still a big game next Tuesday and I don't know any Celtic fan who doesn't want to beat them every time. Winning becomes a habit, it doesn't matter that some of the current squad will not be around next season, a lot of them wil be and Pride is what should motivate any team.

I don't see any point in experimenting because Lennon should not be manager next year.

The new manager will have the close season to experiment and make any changes. In the mean time Lennon should be picking the best and most motivated players.

Basically sums up my thoughts. However, I would not throw them all in at once because putting players into complete chaos doesnt tell you much about them. I think some fans will get something out of finishing with a Lenny 100% record and a good OF result but personally it is kind of meaningless beating Rangers after the title. Its all about next season for me. I must admit though that its hard to be entirely logical when it comes to the OF game and it would be tempting to play our strongest side in that one. Certainly on the other two games we should bench all the loan guys because I dont think any of them will be here next year. They have not done enough to prove they deserve it IMO (except Keane). The only guy who is clearly worth keeping (Keane) is beyond our budget.
